KoS6 - Miss World Pageant: "And World Peace"

Agree with shyuhe here... we need slavery badly.

Not 100% certain that LH>granary in London, I'll look at the numbers before whipping one of them.

Canterbury will get a granary next while it starts growing.

Probably won't have finished the next settler in my 10 turns so we can decide where to send him after I'm done.

Went with a granary instead of a LH in London as it is worth more food/turn via whipping.

Cathy settled close by to our east so I went with a settler after the granary (kinda stupid as we're short on workers right now).

Anyway, settler whip overflow was put on a worker in London, we can change the queue but with these sucky tiles I don't know why we should delay its completion.
Canterbury grows next turn and can start on a worker I guess.

Anyway, either settle this one east or start heading west to secure at least 5 more decent cities.

I agree about settling west. Catherine is Creative - if we settle east she will just flip the city.

I made a little quick little dotmap, just various ideas on places to settle

Here's the save for it if you wanna check it out closer yourselves.

I just slotted in Alphabet there just so I could actually look at the map, I opened the save to a tech prompt. But yeah, it's either that or Archery that seem worthwhile right now.

I probably won't be playing today, we should probably discuss where exactly to settle.

Also, what should I do about that barb in our borders? Just let it suicide on York?

I'd move pink dot 1SW since those are lake tiles there.

Hmm. Loses some things, gains some things. Decent commerce. Commerce city? Cottage the grasslands?

yellow dot 1E, more grassland this way.

Okay, makes sense.

light blue 1W? Maybe Hatty over there so in place is perhaps better.

Yeah it would be nice to grab that oasis, but I'm pretty sure the yellow to the west of the blue dot is Hatty.

It might be worth moving white dot 1SW to get the extra pig too.

So, I opened the save and moved the spawnbuster that was on the white dot 1W to see what was there to see if this suggestion was worth it, and...

A third pig! It's no Bacon Wonderland, but it should be a good GPfarm. Yes, I think that's our next city. What do you guys think?

Alright, nobody is objecting, so I'll just go ahead and assume implicit agreement with my plan to settle this white dot GPfarm next. I don't like assuming, but I also don't like stagnating an SG.

I played 15 turns to round out the turn number.

Turn 1:

Our warrior lures that reckless barbarian into the forest and gives him a prompt club upside the head.

Hatty adopts Slavery

Turn 2:

Canterbury: Warrior -> Warrior

Start on a deer camp in Canterbury

Turn 3:

York: Worker -> Warrior

Turn 4: zzz

Turn 5: zzz

Turn 6:

Canterbury: Warrior -> Warrior

Turn 7:

Catherine founds a city somewhere.

I found Warwick on the white dot.

Warwick: -> Monument

Start on pig pasture in Canterbury

Turn 8: zzz

Turn 9:

York: Warrior -> Lighthouse

Canterbury: Warrior -> Library

Turn 10: zzz

Turn 11:

Hatty spreads Hindu to us in Warwick

Whipped Lighthouse in York

Turn 12:

York: Lighthouse -> Warrior

Turn 13: zzz

Turn 14:

Hindu spreads to York

Start on a mine in Canterbury

Whipped the Library in Canterbury, whipping away an unhappy pop

Turn 15:

York: Warrior -> Library (placeholder, no hammers in it yet)

Canterbury: Library -> Warrior

MMed York for hammers (what little it has) as to not grow into unhappiness too quickly, but that can be changed if you guys think otherwise is better.

MMed Canterbury to also not grow into unhappiness quickly, and hired a scientist there. Alphabet now comes in in 9t.

Hindu spreads to Canterbury.

Catherine founds a city close to York

Blue dot is no longer viable :(

The world as we know it:
Civ4ScreenShot0154.jpg

I don't think we should convert to Hinduism yet. Catherine is Confucian, and she's kinda scary. But then again she's as scary when she's your friend as when she's your enemy. We'll definitely have to do some REXing soon, as we're starting to get squished.

There's some copper to the west of Warwick that I forgot to take a picture of, that should be scouted out. If not the copper to the west of Warwick, I think the next city should be the Pink dot, as it will bring in commerce and will be connected to our road network straight away.

The newest worker from York has been spending his time roading from there to Warwick, avoiding desert tiles to reduce the time spent roading. He's almost there.

I'm back in the loop, will look at the save later.

Wish we could flip Yekaterinburg but that hope must be idle against an immortal creative AI I presume. Getting our hands on that other copper source must be a priority then.

A pity about Yekaterinburg. I had that spot in mind to settle but I guess pressing west is more important for now.

We'll need a new dotmap for at least 2 cities in the west to use the pigs.

Micro worker is a little bit :hmm: both workers should have gone west. Oh and definitely don't stop working our best tiles to avoid going unhappy - work them and start settlers/workers/whip.

Unhappy citizens can still contribute to a settler/worker build if the city has enough food to feed the guy. A bit of a bug in the code but it's a useful one.

I know I've been absent around here, but I'm confused. We're not working two pigs and a deer, nor improving another pig. There are 3 cities and 2 workers at 875 BC, but 9 warriors, with another one being built. :eek: And, they're just sitting around in cities. What's the idea?

I'll think about it a bit before posting a plan.
