Ladies, gentlemen, and hideous alien creatures, I come before you today to conduct what will hopefully be the first in a series of charity auctions on behalf of the Legitimate Businessworm's Benevolent Fund.

Every year, four thousand giant entrepreneurial gastropods are killed in chain-related 'accidents'. With the funds raised from the sale of items like this stylish - and highly effective - blaster pistol, we at the LBBF can make a real difference to the lives of those minions, lackeys, and assorted goons who are left behind when tragedy strikes. Just imagine all those poor, sad Kowakian monkey-lizards, pining over their dearly departed masters. Don't they deserve another shot at happiness? Not even a droid would be so cold and heartless to deny them that. So, dig deep, bid generously, and spread a little love in this cold, dark galaxy...

Do I hear 3 credits?

Hmmm... who to vote for. I don't exactly want to vote for earthling because I'm not entirely convinced that the no lynch yesterday was because he is scum so much as perhaps a frame attempt. I also don't really agree with the budda lynch since I'm pro keeping the bounty hunters around since I believe they could be of some use to us.

Just something I noticed from yesterday:

Is it just coincidence that Mergle has scan results from the two big lynch candidates (myself and Earthling)?

That just seems odd to me that he has scan results from both of us, especially after only 3 nights If scanning. I guess that's it's plausible, but he just so happens to have scan results the day that we both fall under suspicion.

His scan results aren't wrong though about me, so I'm inclined to believe that Earthling is light sided.

The failed lynch on Earthling gives me a Sith Master (godfather) vibe. We know that Palpatine could fool the best Jedi, right up to the point he was revealed. Presumably the Sith in the time of the Old Republic could do the same, so a light side scan might be a plausible result for one. And the no-lynch is strongly reminiscent of a Governor role stepping in to stop it, also a mafia-aligned role. (and one I used with great effect over on the org )

Could Earthling be light side, and the stopped lynch a town ability? Yes, of course that's possible. But I think it would be a mistake to just assume that's the case.

A frame attempt? How do you figure that?

Earthling was a big suspect last phase and was sure to be lynched when all of a sudden his lynch fails. It could be a mafia governor role trying to frame earthling and make him look like scum or it could be as dave suggested and he is a godfather type role that appears light side on scans and has a lynch immunity, either until the other scum are dead or just a one shot use.

Another townie used a lynch stopping ability. He did make a really good call and it's appreciated. Appropriate people know who he is.

I'm a little surprised how the nightkills worked out, assuming it was scum action and not vigilante or third party work. vote: Buddhafish is still the best lead I currently know of. I still don't like Red Spy's contributions but there's no form of hard evidence on him, and no one else whom we have relevant knowledge about is more suspicious than Buddhafish.

There's virtually no evidence Buddhafish is a bounty hunter. Do you know better? He was scanned as Dark Side, nothing more, not scanned as a bounty hunter or even some other known neutral character. Without people even knowing his claim as a neutral character, and I'm not sure many of you do, he could just as well be Sith. And if he is a bounty hunter he could possibly be the last one, at this point.

I think a lot of people have missed or mixed up what scans have actually been claimed and where they led. For instance, atheotes, johnhughthom's scan was never tested. His one scan target, Zack, is still alive. He might have had a paranoid scan or not, we don't know.

Bolding mine. I have to say, that line was highly unnecessary, especially if you're trying to maintain innocence here. I'm having a hard time believing a quote another townie used his/her lynch stopping power on Earthling. One, who says they're town? A townie burning his ability on him at this stage would take a giant leap of faith, and while possible, I can't see it. The way I'm leaning on this is given the past day or so's developments, a mafia using a stop lynch power on someone who was overwhelming the favorite makes a ton of strategic sense, especially given Buddafish's dark side scan result. Basically, the end result is two more days wasted on zero discussion since the coming actions have by default already been decided (lynch of Earthling as I can easily see another wagon forming to follow up and Buddafish based on his scan).

I see that upthread (#806) Bhuddafish has confirmed he's darkside, which mean these scan results aren't from an insane cop. And they're not paranoid cop either, or there wouldn't be any lightside results. For owning up to that, I'm holding off on voting for Bhudda.

Fos: The Black Knigh for a ridiculous argument. Even if these scan results were paranoid/insane, which it has now been shown they are not (random results are still possible I guess), that wouldn't make me mafia, and so lynching me is just daft on that logic.

Earthling's lynch was stopped by a third party stepping in, as he stated.
