Kyp's GMR Game (open sign ups)

Our other cities will soon fall, as the backward and cowardly Aztecs make good on their deal with the devil.

Which civ will be next in the list of russian victims?! Is there anything which can stop militaristic Russia?! :assimilate:

Songhai is leading in technology, for that you will at least be tested, otherwise we will find it hard to stop you launching spaceship in time. We will force you spend hammers on units, NOW, instead of science buildings.

Our other cities will soon fall, as the backward and cowardly Aztecs make good on their deal with the devil.

If the Aztec was abandoned by your 'angels', dancing with the 'devil' is not a bad strategy :)

To abandon something, you must first have a relationship with it.

Egyptians only ever wanted peace to pursue our studies. If you see that as angelic, that is up to you.

The aztec have never claimed to be an enlightend people, but we are fierce and proud. Words and insults only strengthen our belief that we chose the right side. We will support the great Catherine to the end, with our resources and, if necessary, our lives.

We offered no insult, only facts.

The Egyptians are expelled from the old continent.

@Aztec: we have to take down the city by ourselves in order to hunt down the artillery fleeing from the city to join the Songhai force. Feel free to ask us for the city. It has water mill library market and workshop surviving. The city will be auto-annexed if traded.

We were already aware that russian forces might be forced to move in to cut off any fleeing troops. We will be happy to govern any conquered cities for our friends so they may focus on other more important things.

I would've thought the Aztecs would have been promised Heliopolis as a minimum for their support of the Russians.

The Egyptian people celebrate the construction of their new palace in the New World. Finally, a land where we can farm and study in peace. We gladly abandon the Old World and its petty, violent ways. We are not fools, we know we are not beyond the reach of the bloodthirsty. Whether the evil follows us to enjoy more sport in the slaughter of innocents, or finally leaves us to study in peace, the Egyptian spirit remains.

We thank our Songhai allies for the generosity and loyalty they've shown over the centuries, and wish them the strength to keep their people safe amid the blind passions and carnage of the Old World.

The next turn one of songhai sattellites will produce a great merchant, so Sonhgai's GA can be extended (but we have not yet decided should we send GM to the nearest city state in order to get a large sum of gold or spend him to prolong our GA).
Also in a few turns Songhai will be able to embrace Nationalism from Order policy tree. Nationalism stacked with Himedji Castle will provide Kingdom of Songhai a significant combat bonus of +30% to combat strength within the territorial domains of Songhai.
Askia also would like to announce that Songhai is already is the second civ right after Russia in military power.
All the facts mentioned above suggest that Songhai will turn out a hard nut to crack for russian invaders.
Great Catherine is quilty for all misery and pain experienced by the people of Egypt allied to Songhai. However, Askia is responsible for the future of his subjects, so he is compelled to offer a peace treaty to the russian empress on the following terms:
1) Catherine will be obliged to sign a peace treaty with China without taking by force any of chinese cities. Askia doesn't want to sign a separate peace treaty with Russia and watch how the russian war machine steamrolls China.
2)The russians and aztecs will let remaining egyptians live. Only a small egyptian colony in the New World is left untouched. Egypt became so weak so it is unable to do any harm to Russia or aztecs.
3) This turn songhai forces recaptured Memphis. Once this city was famous for its scholars trying to unravel the secrets of the nature. Nowadays most part of the city is in ruins made by hands of russian barbarians. Askia had to make an instruction to destruct Memphis University in order to prevent usage of the scholars' recorded knowledge in creation of more deadly and versatile russian weaponry. If Catherine accepts the peace offer, the city will be returned to Russia without bloodshed.

There is a hard choice for Catherine to make:
If she does not accept the peace offer, all other civilization rulers became confident that Russia is going for domination victory. It is most likely that Russia and Songhai in this case tear down each other in the long conflict which will lead that our both civs will give up any chances for the final victory.
If she accepts the peace offer, then Russia and Songhai will get a chance for science or diplomatic victory.

The peace treaty will have to wait until the city of Chengdu is secured in Russian hands. Meanwhile we will test in the next a few turns to see if Songhai is really a tough nut to crack.

We have no intention to invade China. We only seek secure border near Syberia. So Domination is not our goal. and the remaining nations should be happy that we are fighting in a stalemate instead of teching peacefully.

Leaving the cossack to heal in Memphis was a bad decision.

Maybe Catherine tries to trade this city for some gold from the Chinese? The new chinese empress may be more willing to sell this city peacefully in order to cease the conflict than her predessesor.

we want the rubbish city as a puppet. so taking it by force was a better option. after that we will open to talk.

you can still agree on a price for the city with the Chinese. Then he will send you a trade proposal of selling this city. When you accept the offer, you will have an option to convert the city to the puppet.
However, if Russia sends the offer to buy the city, you will not be able to take it as a puppet.

Lately cities have been auto-annexed from trade. Granted, this have been done in GK games but I dont see why the bug cant happen in vanilla either.

When does this bug begin taking place in G&K?

I am playing a hotseat game based on vanilla civ with friends of mine, and about 2 weeks ago one of civs traded their city for 500 pieces gold to another. Finally this traded city became a puppet. So I am sure that cities can be traded as puppets in vanilla.

I've had it happen to me in one of my GMR games and I've seen it happen in others. Its just when you trade a city to another player. Nothing fancy.

maybe this bug happens only in G&K

if played out in a right way, cities can be traded as puppets in vanilla Civ

But, Catherine may be greedy enough to take that chinese city by force "for free" :p:lol:

Lord Askia. The Russians admire the bravery of your riders and we will bury their bodies with dignity.

Our scout finally got to see the wonderous capital of Persia. A Great Scientist is enlightening the people and preaching great advancement.

Sad news from Egypt: Old Pharaoh died quietly in his sleep, at peace in the New World.

To commemorate his passing, Young Pharaoh has sent an offer of peace to the noble Aztec Empire.

Long live the Pharaoh! :egypt:

See ya in another dimension...
