A parrot, diagnosed with the lethal H5 Avian Bird Flu, has died in a British quarantine centre. The bird had been imported from Suriname in South America. This is the same strain of the flu which has killed 60 people world wide.

Because the bird was contained in quarantine, there is no outbreak in the UK.

3 pigeons have been diagnosed in Newcastle (I think) with having the antibodies for Avian Flu. The thing is, they were alive, but have now been destroyed and did not have the actual disease. Go figure. I believe they came from canada. I just really hope this wasn't actaully in Newcastle.

in any english speaking country, thie is always one ctiy named new castle.

Newcastle OZ, sorry.

If I talk about newcastle, i'm probably talking about My Newcastle. Look at my location.

My hope is this bird flu does not mutate into a strain that passes onto humans.
