To be fair I think Mongolia has to be the most obvious split given it literally got split into four polities at the end. Its just served up on a silver platter.

Ilkhanate, Golden Horde, Yuan Empire, Chagatai Horde.

Hrm, they're more 'alternate leaders' rather than a split, though I use 'alternate leaders' very loosely in this context If anything, they'd just be civs in their own right rather than a split from Mongolia (in relation to how splits of vanilla civs are done in the modding community).

That aside, I'd ride the Mongol Successor States hype train to the last terminal and back if it ever appeared

Yeah, I think the current Mongolia fits Genghis perfectly - adding those civs in isn't so much a split as a Successor state pack

Do you guys gonna add Aq Qoyunlu and Qara Qoyunlu Empires? Playing as those civs would be fantastic.

I've honestly been thinking about Qara Qoyunlu but was too lazy to get info about them. Can't speak for Regalman but I could be interested with more info, but only when I get some civs like Ainu, Yuan and Tunisia done.

I use InfoAddict and I had no problems when I played the Safavids.

I'm not sure a QQ or AQ civ is that viable. Not because they aren't interesting, because they are, or because they weren't relevant/powerful, because they were, but just because there isn't actually much unique about them, per se. They were both part of a slew of Turko-Mongol splinter states which attempted to govern after the fall of the Ilkhanate and they were all relatively short lived and fairly similar. There is almost nothing which sets QQ apart from every other Mongol successor state, be it the Jalayrids, Chupanids or even states like the Timurids or Golden Horde.

There is very, very little one could actually do in terms of a unique angle for QQ, in my opinion.
