LINES-World of Magic

Oops. Sorry I forgot about you getting library bonuses. But about the war, you simply didn't have casualties. Maybe 1 or 2 rocs got shot down, but that wouldn't be big enough to mention. I could give you casualties if you wanted.

Oh, and it was Erik who wrote the story before the update. He just asked me to post it.

Sheesh! You'd think I'd get some appreciation. I think that was the hardest update I ever did! And what do you point out? One mistake, and then you say:
This had better be the biggest mistake of your life!

Do you have a migraine Israelite?

I put in hours of work and get my mom really angry at me for spending too much time on the internet, and get criticism!

Okay, rant over. But please, at least make it constructive criticism.

YOU DID GREAT IGGY!!! YEA!!!... so how come i didn't push into Karthage territory? i thought those were in my orders

Iggy - what you did was really great (it is an odd thing to complain about - no causalities :crazyeye: ) and with a migriane too? (speaking with the complete lack of sympathy possesed by someone who has never had one :) ) all round good job! The things I'm annoyed about is stuff happening I didn't like - not mistakes.

Additionally I've fianlly worked out what makes the LINEs map always look odd to me - the pacuity of grey barbarian areas prevalent on all the other NES.

that I misspelt paucity in the heat of congragulating you on your update :p. For gods sake man I'm not the worlds greatest speller - hell my username is misspelt! (for another thing I'm really quite drunk)

Another thing - why is the Balerica-Karthage trade route still showing on the map? :crazyeye:

I somewhat saw this comming, hence by desparate last minute ploy to get more MPP before the update, but I didn't anticipate so many nations jumping in, I think this means I easily get the "Most Hated Nation" award :) .

i hope you don't quit Stratego but you shouldn't bully people around
so... when will stats be updated?
Just to be clear, my "bullying" was strictly in character, I thought a slight tinge of arrogance would befit a rich pompus nation, though to be fair, I never broke a treaty (the only possible exception was my agreement to supply you with an army last turn, but I fulfilled my obligation in my orders, the mod just didn't carry them out). That said, I think I may quit, I was only playing because I liked writing the stories, and I just got a part time job (in addition to being a full time student) so I don't know if I'll have time anymore to write the stories and playing the game without writing the stories just isn't fun for me.

So thanks for letting me play guys, and if it turns out I still do have time to continue writing stories, I may join again as another nation in a couple weeks.

Glad you're not too upset about it Strategos. See yuh!

Oh, Germania's open now, if you want it.

I don't think it's so much that you're 'hated' as 'too powerful for your own good, or specifically, your neighbour's good'. :D

Hmm it seems a bit weird...That Baleria lost 100 infantry while I lost much more...what about the possesing/driving insane spirits Iggy?

Yup you were getting too powerful...but what really got me over the edge is that you were afraid to fight kentharu and decided to obey him and invade Germania.Who would be next?

Iggy- Actually, when I said "biggest mistake of your life" that was joking. But thanks for clearing that up. I was actually refering more to the fact that it doesn't mention me getting any population bonus, but I am guessing you just forgot to mention that since there were no casualties to put down. Oh well, sorry about the mix up.

what is that supose to mean? i was afraid to fight him not the other way around, just my pride and ignorance... but i suspect i will be gang banged soon, since i shall continue to stay in character, which means a war, ever single turn :p or me going into hybernation lol... hope this doesn't happen.... .... ... :p

OOC: Wow, I'm glad I'm not involved in the European conflict! All I have to worry about (for the moment) is massive hordes of undead, nothing compared to the massive hordes of PC countries!

@Lord_Iggy: Could you please tell me which nations I have contact with? Remember, I sailed through the Panama Canal, so I should know some of those countries. And it seems like every Penguin nation helped against the necromancers, so I should know them all. And I practically border Kojaro, so I should know them. Could you confirm these, and tell me which other countries I know?

Also, could you add stats for Dur Veliz? I've been encouraging their growth for 3 centuries now... Must...have...puppet state!

OMBG W00TZORZ WE PULLED IT OFF!! [party]

@(post)1014: Gahh! I TOLD you to keep my formatting!!

@1016: Yes, I do. With the formatting, though, it would have read "The Hierarch of Rak Cthol Rhodes (gaah! Eddings moment there!)" and I don't believe there are any other references. It was Disenfrancised who came up with this Hierarch, though.

@1019: Affirmative.

@1028: Good to see there are no hard feelings. ;)
This had been planned for about three turns, though, ever since I first contacted Abyssinia all the way back on November 11th. I suggest you wait a turn or two to see if our little cabal invades anyone else before you rejoin.

@1033: Hordes indeed. :p I count about seven nations who wanted a piece of Karthage. Can you say "domino effect" now? :p

Grreeat update!
Nice to be the good guy. :-)

Oh and for the record Kentharu started it, just for the sake of my rep. that is. *ignores snorts and comments*

Lord_Iggy, you should get used to this sort of attacks. That was because this was a difficult, decisive, "culminative" update. I am yet to see any of these updates, that trully doom or build (PC) empires, pass without death threats and criticism of varying degrees of constructiveness.

Great update!

Great update, Iggy. You need to update my stats, and please move them to under the PC nations post.

Too bad you're leaving, Strategos. Kudos for taking it as cool as you do. Some would not have, in your slippers. Hope we see you again some time.

The caravan of camels reached the transit post of Kayes. Amoud shook his cape and brushed away the desert sand. Thankfully, the coming of the mages to the Coast Region had put an end to the worst of sandstorms along the trade route cutting through the arid wasteland. Still, occasional gales caused fine sand to drift into Amoud's eyes, and thereby him to curse.

His equivalent manning the riverboats had a much less arduous job. their magic-powered vessels would skim down the strem as easily upstream as on the way to the port city of Da'quar. One mage was on every boat shuttling the goods on the river, and they used their mastery of the winds to fill the sails until they almost burst. The river had been treacherous until the same magicians had called a might rainstorm to bolster the river and wash away the large rocks and large masses of dirt. Now the tranquil river flowing in gentle curves ramained, wide and clear.

Kayes was a mere village, only founded to serve as a relay and storage place for the goods bound for naval trade with other countries. Most of the inhabitants were officials and guards. A large but spartan barracks was built for them and the mages who helped the river boats sail upstream against the flotsam. Also, many settlers traveled from the Songhai main to seek the riches of trade promised by the new ports. As a result of this, the civilians who resided in Kayes were almost exclusively innkeepers, merchants or suppliers of "services".

Amoud was exactly headed for one of these lively brothels. He ordered his men to unload the caravan, and quickly went to the tax office to get his job done with. Then, after an irritating interview with the ledgekeeper, he went to enjoy the rest of the evening after yet another successful shipment. Tomorrow, the goods he had delivered would enter the storage, and within a week it would arrive in Da'quar. A month later, it would reach distant lands and distant countries, and bring riches back to Songhai.

Amoud knew this well, and felt he did his country a great service. He also felt it just with a nightful of women and liquor. Soon, he would feel the fruits of his industries, and the hammering of a bottle of oosquai the morning after.

So. Anyone want to trade? :)

Guys, I sense (know) that this is a long-lived NES that updates more then fairly regularly, LordIggy however is not the kind who updates the stat.s with the story before it's been about three-to-six days.
Do you need a co-mod? I could help, it's a good NES; ye've all been kind and nice and Silversteak is in it so I'd love to crunch some stat.s.
I'm cutting down on other NESes anyways.

Oh and as long as I'm shamelessly meta-gaming, would you care to explore down a bit further Silvah? You can trust me in this game, I'm neutral good here. Besides we know each other, it wouldn't stop. ;)
If we become allies I will be loyal.

Diplomacy to the northerners of Hawaii from Antarctica

We request funds to train more clerics of the Ice for our war effort. Failure to comply will result in Antarctican withdrawal from the expeditionary force.

To Ross, Biss and Tika

Ever thought of using divine magic and magic to return the undead to their graves? Penguins are brave and intelligent creatures, we would not hesitate to send advisors to teach you the awesome powers of our clerics and mages. It's also a shame that we should be required to waste penguin and man-power on the Hawaiian war, the islanders should obviously supply fresh amounts of bodies while we dispose of the menace. Are the northerners not inept? We piss on the grave of their ancestors. Soon they will request our men and women to take care of their children as all their men have fallen into shallow, undecorated graves.

[This is obvious but most Antarcticans have the mental flaws of 'enmity' and 'aversion' towards all humans to the north... all of you in other words.]
