LINES-World of Magic

(edited in) Hmm Telechronomancy? that would save time writing orders...
Time for me to display my utter geekiness:
(patron: Athena)

The first page: "Magic: 10 priests, Time and Space manipulation"

Wikipedia's Greek-English Rootword list
Greek tele-, meaning distant
Greek khrono-, meaning time
Greek apo-, meaning away from
Greek apost-, meaning distance
-mancy, originally meaning 'divination by', now used as a suffix for a type of magic

So:
Telechronomancy: Distant Time Magic
Apostelemancy: Far Away Magic / Long Distance Magic

Not sure how that would help you write orders.

How much population do you get for an economy point? It doesn't seem to be mentioned on the first page.
(Oh, and will you plase add that suggested zero to all stats, so that we don't have nations consisting of 2000 people?)

When is the update?

Okay sounds good.

Well I think I'm going to need to get a trade network/empire first before there is anything to bring down (give me a few turnsets alright :) ).

And from the looks of things the population can't be boosted with ecomony but instead must be grown... naturally :groucho:

Give people a lot of food, living space, heal their illnesses (things that can be bought with money, technology and manpower) and your population growth will accelerate :-)

Okay guys, orders due for Thursday, or about 30 hours hence. If you're not sure if you sent orders, look at the first page. If your orders are blue, they are received by me. If they are black, send 'em quick.

And Contempt, the wonder you suggest would be insanely expensive. You're aware of that right.

Note to people sending orders: If you overspend, the thing on the bottom of your production list goes byebye.

A hypothetical question: Can you "split" the spending of an econ point? For example could you buy say 50 infantry and 50 calvary or 5 UU and 5 galleys, etc?

And Iggy I sent an updated copy of my orders clearly marked as *Update* please use that one not the first one (not that it will make much difference, but against those accursed pirates every little bit helps).

@Lord_Iggy: Uh, what wonder????
Yay, update Thursday, and my orders are in. Nice way of keeping track. :goodjob:
P.S: Care to add either colors to the first page nations, or names to the map when you update?
P.P.S: Is there actually any bonus for having large amounts of territory? I hope so.

@Disenfrancised: I don't care about your trade routes. One smuggler in your palace (no, not an assassin, just a perfectly normal transporter of illicit goods) and your empire goes ka-poof.

@Everyone: Don't build complex war machines, like juggernaughts. I can guarantee they'll go wahoonie-shaped*, and my mages are perfectly happy to do mercenary work.

@jalapeno_dude: I call dibs on South America! :p
Invade Australia or something.

*cookie for whoever gets the reference

And contempt's wonder was PMed. You may learn about it in the update.

Note about rules: I won't be changing the population right now, but it'll grow fairly quickly as the turns go by. And sorry, I won't split economy points. You can just buy one thing with an eco point now and something else later, but no splitting at all.

Ka-poof? KA-poof?? The destruction of such a mighty empire will cause a considerably mighter sound than Ka-poof! Some fizzing will be involved at least! and maybe a clang?

I've only come across the noble Wahoonie in reference to Ankh-morpork; what exactly is its shape?

ah ankh morpork may be of that shape - but what of the Wahoonie?

Additional (whilst intoxication allows paranoid conspiracy theory connections) - "Elgovia" "Dashiv" - are those named after that keenspot comic you got your avatar from Erik?

spammity spam spam...

OK, the war machines will go ka-poof, then! Falling empires can get a *bongbongbong dang CRASH klklklkrrr THWACK thud* -sound.

The Wahoonie is a disgusting (non-)comestible. People pay large sums in order to not eat them.

Yes, they're named after "that keenspot comic", and now that you got it...
*glomps Disenfrancised solidly*
*considers handing out a newbie pack, but decides against it*
Also, "that keenspot comic" (aka EGS) even has a forum titled "EGS Mayhem", which is indicative of the (usually benevolent) chaos that prevails there.

You know, if I had all of the orders I could start the update right now because I just started a 4 day weekend.
