LINESII- Into the Darkness- Part II

From: The Valin Republics of Veritas
To: The Union of Ardan

After reviewing our most ancient texts, and consulting the Summa, we have come to the following conclusion: That the one named St. Pire was a true disciple of the One, and his teachings were directly inspired by His guidance. His works are a great addition to the Oneist faith. We also have resolved that Pirian Oneism has many righteous doctrines that should be incorporated into the mother Church.

On this agreement, we would like to propose that religious negotiations between our faiths begin again, as agreed upon in the Second Treaty of Venix.

Our contacts have been infrequent, but we wish to inform you that New Eldism is under the protection of the Republic, and all who practice it can do so free of persecution. As long as they don't interfere with the Church, of course.

We heard of your inquiries with the Citadel scholars visiting your lands, and will be happy to provide you with the millenium-long history of all our dealings with those called Bladeist, beginning with their mass murder of several hundred peaceful Valin colonists at Sempronia, and ending with their current bloody rampage across our lands.

Also, let us provide you with a map of the world as known by the people of Veritas and the Citadel.

@Cleric: We can definitely work something out with your religious differences.

You sort of spoiled any religious difference with the crusade, not that I care anymore about the peaceful Taoist like version of Oneism. Iggy I never mentioned in my project that the religious city will be the host to these different views. Thlayli I leave the choice up to you.

Just change the name of our religion to something more generic like Imperial Cult. (Since we are all roman like republics) I really dislike the name The Church of the One, it sounds so laaaame.

PS clear your PM box.

Done! I added you on MSN, too.

Ok, I'm thining of retiring from this NES, perhaps the month long wait killed it for me, I dunno. Its just not intresting me.

I'm going to leave UKKK open to a good player, and by gods, if you muck it up I'm going to come at you with a pick.

We are gladdened by this news. Persecution is not the way of Eldos. Of course we will not interfere with the church--many, if not most, New Eldists outside of the Citadel follow other religions as well.

Aww, Kal, you've been in this from the beginning! Don't admit defeat just yet... :p

Not going to work, I'm sufficiently comfortable with my own abilties that I do not need to prove them :p

HAH!

Well technically, you've never defeated me without the help of allies, betrayal, or some other outside assistance.

And without the CRA, I think we can safely say that Veritas would have won all along. ;)

Kudos for me then, for choosing the correct stratagy and forming the alliance no?

Diplomacy is an extension of poltics, as is warfare.

Yes, but my point was that your skills alone were not enough to defeat Veritas. Not saying that I'm any better, just that you shouldn't use arrogance as a justification for leaving.

I think you fail to see the point, I recognised a weakness, and addressed it. and I'm not using arrogance as a reason to quit, merely that my confidence is such that I do not feel compelled to show to you that my position is superior.

Note the underlined statement.

I personally would argue that my position is superior, especially if you look at it in terms of momentum. Your empire is aging, having already reached its zenith, where mine has been newly revitalized.

Also, if me and Imago win the war, or sign peace after you quit, you can claim that it was the fault of the NPC/whoever takes Khemri after you.

Is that Truly your estimation of My Empire? And I spent all my time making it a assimilating Culture for this? *sigh*

At no point has my Momentum been that large, this has worked to my advantage, because momentum can be used against you, it shows the direction you are taking clearly, you give your enemies poltical capital to forge alliances and so on.

on your point that I can blame the other player for making bad moves, or on the other hand an NPC...so? Hardly relevant, how exactly is there bad moves MY fault?

Decloak: And is currently hated by just about everyone on the old continent, has almost been forced off the old continent entirely, has suffered crushing military defeat, losing most of its Navy and Army, is composed of a bunch of strung out, isolatable outposts... yeah, Veritas is just Duke of New York, A1. :p

Symphony, you should take Khmeri:)

Huh, kind of reminds me of the battle between Rome and Carthage in the Third Transpoenic War. At least I have something to work off of.
