It's still, at best, the equivalent of 400 BCE.

I would beg to differ. Its more around at 11th Century AD. There was just the steppe invasions, and as Iggy has pointed out the existance of the Citadel has propelled techonology.

you forget this doesn't have CE or BCE, it just has 1 timeline

Equivalent kentharu, equivalent :p As in the progress of technology and etc in comparison with OTL, that's what she was referring to. Not the actual date of the time, but the level of technology and advancement ;)

And it's hardly the 11th Century AD, gunpowder would have already been invented by then and in addition, the Mongols weren't the only peoples to come out of the steppes. The ancestors of the Persians did come after all from the steppes and the Persians conquered Mespotamia much as the Lengels conquered most of the Cradle. And if you don't count them, there's also the Huns in the 5th Century.

Oh, I think it's closer to 50 AD.

:mischief:

Actually its more like the 12th Century. The Union of Khemri and Kehexou= Union of Hungary and Croatia, Mongol Conquests, Lengel Conquests, Song Dynasty loses power in China, the Struggle in Guangfei, technology about the same....

No, it's definitely around 50 AD. :p

What on earth does the Union of Khemri and Kehexou have to do about the OTL equivalent time? There's been tons of royal marriages and unifications in history. I would argue that the UKKK is Imperial Rome under Augustus/Alexander's Empire. The Lengel conquests are the Persian conquests. The Song Dynasty and Guangfei has little in common, I would argue it's more of late Han dynasty thing. There are no stirrups at all. :p

EDIT: Just because we have better ships then in OTL doesn't mean anything. First of all, can you actually compare the Atlantic/Pacific Ocean and the Exodian Sea? From my estimate, the Atlantic and Pacific are both vasly larger, deeper and rougher then the Exodian Sea :p

I thought the Lengels had stirrups, and the Khemri..... their Cataphratoria.

And Veritas was Rome i always thought.

Though OTL comparisons really don't work. I still say were definatly out of the B.C.E range. We have ships that can cross from Nontin to New Veritas

Crossing the Exodian is like crossing the Bering Strait. Not difficult.

To add my points to this interesting argument:

1. We don't have gunpowder yet.
2. Barbarian invasions have happened for millennia OTL and TTL. The Zibonese were the first in this NES, moving down from the area north of former Nkondi and displacing proto-Veritasian, Kalmar, Emoran, Davarian, and possibly Eldranian tribes (this was pre-first update very early history).
3. We have developed several knightlike groups of elite armoured cavalry.

Basically, we are sometime in the Roman era, somewhere between 100 BCE and 500 CE.

@Silver Steak- Could you send orders for your nation so I can include it in the update?

See! I'm right :p

Though Iggy, is Exilisium like a form of Hawaii fed by volcanic eruptions or is it more like Britain which was seperated from Europe?

How's the update coming so far iggy? :(

It's not quite like either, but similar to both.

It is quite volcanic, but not in the same way as Hawai'i. It is, in geopolitical terms, quite like a weaker Britain which is just further from the coast.

I've done most of my update save the Guangfei/Valin conflict, which is gonna take me several days of scattered updating to finish.

Oh bugger, stupid wars. Just tell me Iggy, yes or no, did my... uh... "reforms" work out decently? :p
