Iggy, clear your PM box!

Please check your inbox for a PM from me. If you didn't get it, I'll resend. Also, do my people know where Spice Islands are and do we have the capability to reach them?

No, that is a visualization of the appearance of the dignitaries who visited Guangfei.

@a_propagandist- You don't know where the Spice Islands are.

The Imperial Throne of Guangfei will make an announcement on all matters very soon.

The Valin Republics have already unlocked the secrets of black powder, independent of these occult neo-Eldranians. We do not need their help to defend ourselves from a ravaging horde intent on our destruction - Their ancestors, and the Swade that the Citadel tolerated and traded with, have given us more than enough experience.

But, we will heed their warnings. However, it will be the Valin Republics, veterans of countless wars, that will lead the resistance to this foreign army. Our own holy books speak of the fallen that fled into the east after the First Exodus, and perhaps these are their successors.

If the Citadel wishes to aid us, we ask that they present ALL of their knowledge on this situation to the Council of Kallamas.

As a fellow Azulian, what is your take on the supposed threat from the east and the citadel offer?

To Chancosanx, Tir Tairngire, Norvalin, Zemoran Council

I assume you recieved the same message from the citadel, what should be done? we are not exactly trusting of them. We may send our men to help Syracia but what of our homelands? This could easily be a ploy.

we think it would be more wise to wait, if others send their forces to Syracia then we help. If not and this enemy reachs Kelios then we defend them.

To: The Librarian of the Citadel of the South, Head of the Conclave of Citadels
From: His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Diankang of the Han Empire of Guangfei

Long have the Citadel and Guangfei been friends, for were we not approached by your lovers of knowledge centuries ago? Before the coming of the White Ones, you preached words of wisdom equal to if not surpassing the sages of old. Guangfei shall respond to your call to arms. Soldiers shall be raised from the ground, more numerous and mightier than the armies of the Accursed Zhang. We shall not lead, nor shall we be led. For are we not all, nations of equal mind if not stature? Yet it is seekers of knowledge, not brazen soldiers who win the day. We shall heed your words.

To: The Emperor of the Valins
From: The Most Unworthy of Kings

Oh how wicked am thee! For who am I but a man of lowly status to speak to one as great as thou? Must we overturn all that is old and wise in the world, and embrace without a doubt all which is young and fresh? Yet the most beautiful and ancient of jade is but an ugly thing if it surrounds itself with petty rocks, you are judged by the company you keep. We have always recognized your lineage, Erias III of Khemri, if not your reign.

To: Myocaca
From: Guangfei

Mighty are the endeavors of the Kings of now, Guangfei shall not pursue any further. Let the ancient treaty lapse for Guangfei embraces Myocaca as friend. Yet it takes a friend to remind another of his mistakes, for that is what friends do. Aryie is but a peaceful nation, and the strong will protect the weak should any threaten her. On great Otaria, long ago the Swades of old cleansed that land of the Valins, and the world was good. To avenge the sword with the sword shall mean for naught, expel the sea-raiders! Yet in faraway lands, perhaps Myocaca should stay her hand and keep the peace?

To Destre, Trinlin, and Magland
From: Guangfei

Against whom do you prepare your arms against in defense? For does not friendship between families led to alliances of blood? Do you seek to turn away your friends in Guangfei with your swords drawn?

To: Rozan
From: Guangfei

We recognize your ties of blood to a lordship of the Hiutu Peoples.

To: Nurmafer, Zuoharra and Tishan
From: Guangfei

We recognize your independence. We shall dispatch emissaries to your respective courts immediately.

To: Emor
From: Guangfei

Guangfei opens her borders to all of Emor. For the People of Emor has been noble, if not nobly led.

From: Destre
To: Guangfei

Against whatever threatens our nations. And yet, it is especially a pact to hold ourselves together in peace. Remember that after Trinlin fell to Guangfei might, numerous warring successor states competed with each other for power. And only now, for the past century, have we reached some semblance of peace in the southern reaches. This alliance is a way to ensure that we will not resort to arms as the first measure. Instead, we will try to communicate and compromise, as the powers in the alliance will balance each other out. The south is tired of war. Having an agreement to help each other should not worry you- it is a defensive alliance.

From: Abbot Ferak I Guardian of the Abbey of Envia
To: Myocaca (i'm assuming I know your name through captured warriors.)

We have nothing to squabble over. Leave these lands and your captured soldiers will be given their lives. Lady Envia frowns upon those who are meddlesome.

From: Abbot Ferak I guardian of the Abbey of Envia
To: Guarela

Proud people of Guarela your people grow weary of this war. Leave our coastline and return to your island and we may have peace. If not this war shall continue and your captured soldiers will be publically executed.

Not one single soldier of the Dragon has ever set foot in the heartlands of the South. Trinlin fell not to Guangfei, but to the ambition of her Kings and the invasion of the Khemrians. Friendship between families inevitably lead to ties of blood, one thing leads to another. Trod carefully, son of Destre for your aspirations may be pure, but your heirs may corrupt them. Do not walk the path already trodden by the Olden Kings of Trinlin, Magland, and Rozan.

As a fellow Azulian, what is your take on the supposed threat from the east and the citadel offer?

To: Zamdar; The Azulian League
From: Kelios

From what confused reports we get out of the garrisons in the East, the Syracians may well have been on the brink of betraying us before they left quite suddenly. It seems to me that if they were so quick to leave, they must have had a reason -- whether that reason is truly an advanced nation of enemies almost beyond our ability to fight, or merely a horde of invaders, there seems to be something out there. Kelios will send a factfinding mission*, and with luck we will find out what has truly happened.

With this potential danger, we formally extend the offer of a mutual protection pact to all nations of Azulia; we will also be willing to work with the Citadel and foreign powers to try and coordinate some kind of response.

To: All Nations of Azulia
From: Kelios

See the above diplomacy to Zamdar; we extend the offer of a mutual protection pact.

OOC footnotes:

*And I really, really, really hope that this won't take a whole turn to do.

In retrospect, this is rather amusing, considering one of the nation concepts I was thinking of trying out was an anti-Citadel. :p

Norvalin: We think the Azulian League led by Zamdar (and supported by Norvalin, etc.) should be extended to all the nations of Azulia. That unified command can organize the defense.

---

Paleaveritas: But we believe that this 'citadel' is holding much back. They have told us nothing of the nature of our enemy besides flowery phrases, typical to men who spend time in a library rather than on the battlefield. Perhaps one day the Citadel will learn what their ancestors taught us: War is a tool, not the only tool.

This might be a trap or worse. We want the Citadel to prove their case, with maps of their discoveries, and histories of this army and its origins. They can present them to the allied Council of Kallamas if they truly seek our help.

To: The Emperor Diankang of Guangfei
From: The Council Head of Magland

Magland does not prepare arms against any. We join our neighbors so that there is not a future where we must fight against them.

To: Diankang
From: Emperor Erias I of Paleaveritas

What clever sarcasm! When you recognize my title, Han, I will recognize yours.

OOC: I'm continuing to represent the three Valin Republics in diplomacy, but their tone of voice will be separate: Paleaveritas is imperial and arrogant, Norvalin is quiet and direct, and Neaveritas is pious and calculating.

To: The Librarian of the Citadel of the South
From: The Council Head of Magland

If Magland was in any position to send an army, we might, but as it stands our people are too busy growing their food to take arms up for defense of the foreign land you describe. We are willing to send a small amount of dried rorlapum with which you may ease the souls of those who suffer.

OOC: anti-citadel? like sucking knowledge out of peoples heads :p

Most wise my fellow Azulian, we agree to Mutual protection pact.

Norvalin: We think the Azulian League led by Zamdar (and supported by Norvalin, etc.) should be extended to all the nations of Azulia. That unified command can organize the defense.

We would accept this if we remain leader in the league, otherwise we decline.

They have let slip some information, they call the eastern threat heretics which would make them an aggressive offshot of the citadel, if true they expect us to clean up their mess.

we also believe this could be a trap so they can strike at our hearts more easily.

OOC: Yes thlayli, Guangfei is completely aware of the situation. Not all of us are ah... self-centered Valins ;) And yes, we are very, very aware of the latest incarnation of New Veritas. We neither forget, nor do we forgive.

IC:

The Han Empire of Guangfei needs not the recognition of the Emperor of the Valins of Veritas. The world will not end if he chooses to ignore us.

Paleaveritas: We wish the Emperor of Guangfei's soldiers a pleasant trip across the long and dangerous ocean.

Neaveritas: Please ignore Erias, Emperor Diankang. In reality you are quite right to ignore him, since we control the navy, and he is just a figurehead for the Tactikrator. We apologize for the intrusion.
