Sure, we would love to join such an alliance. Any more details?

We share a lot with you now. But we don't feel membership would be the best options for us right now. Perhaps in the future?

To: Bavaria, Crimea, Daghestan, The Kazakh Soviet
From: Russia

We intend the Comintern to be a mutual defensive alliance, to ensure that none of our nations are attacked by the capitalist scum, as well as a group for economic and technological cooperation.

While we are saddened to see that you do not wish to join the Comintern, we still view you as friends and possible allies in the future.

For centuries you and the Russians kept us down. Do not think of us quite so willing to forget this fact.

Then is it established?

Same to you!

I think that's all NPC diplomacy.. tell me if I forgot someone! :P

Onto stats and the like..

Well, I appreciate it Kozmos.

First off, I don't really understand what you mean by me board gameifying anything. The only difference between this, OAS and SMW really is my inclusion of a vague Imago inspired tech tree. I do not limit what you can do, what you can't do.. or anything.

As for technology, it is by no means realistic. This NES is not supposed to maintain my strict attempts at making a realistic NES, something I tried with SMW and failed with horribly. Who a m I to attempt to post rules about technologies and sciences I in all honesty have but a basic grasp on. NES's that sacrifice game play, for the sake of direct realism usually do poorly in both regards.

It's a shame you don't want to play this, as I usually enjoy your playing, but alas, you're not interested. I guess I can't really please everyone.

Perhaps I just dont like the simplified tech tree [Biology? Chemistry? Electronics? Math? Secret projects?] and the fact that instead of naval squadrons we have every single ship type but land forces only have infantry divisions and tanks, likewise for the airforce to be simply sorted into the fighter/bomber category.

Sure perhaps one can work with the vagueness that an infantry division implies but I don't much like it with naval forces being so clearly defined. And working with those limitations having only one UU per branch stifles any creativity. I want a tank the size of a building and a giant mechanical spider with a fricking laser on it's head in my army escorted by a giant flying saucer with a death beam, launching thousands of VTOL gunships to rain fiery napalm death and superheated plasma on my wretched enemies. I wont even talk of other delightful death dealing technologies and projects.

Perhaps you have a point about the UU restrictions. That, I'd be willing to change.

As for the other stuff.. like destroyers and the like.. meh. I'm not really going to change that. And with infantry, short of adding Helicopter units, and artillery units.. and etc. etc., all things which I assume would be in a division, I wouldn't really want to add anything else.

Of course, this is my opinion and if significant numbers of players feel the same way, I can change that, and revert Bomber and Fighter squadrons to just Air Squadrons.

But the tech tree is for my own sanity.

Ukraine is me!

Around their radios, Ukrainian families huddle waiting eagerly. The warm hissing and poping of their state issued solid state radios disappears as a mans voice coldly delivers the "Standard Presidential Address Introductions."
"Ukrainians,

In no less than 10 minutes, mandatory listening is required. Failure to do so will result in prosecution, no exceptions."

The radio signal fades back into static.

British Empire here!

Past that, I'd like to highlight that orders are due by Thursday, so hopefully I can update before Easter. The quicker you get your orders in, the quicker I can update. Since this is the first turn, you shouldn't really need that much time. :P

Who is the purple nation in Panama.

Who is the purple nation in panama?

The Republic of Central America.

*Ukrainian National Anthem blares forth from the Radio*

At its completion a warm voice begins to speak,

"Good evening my country.

It has been a trying month. Growth in output has once again not met the Ministry of Economic Developments planned projections. Continued protectionist practices of Marxist neighbors and imperialist West has ******** our potential. We cannot let the fruits of our labor rot! It's times like these that we must sacrifice! Our minsters say we must improve outputs and reduce consumption! There for we have introduced a limits to fuel consumption in households during the summer months in order to increase factory working hours year long! Meaning more jobs and better salaries for all skilled workers! Remember the key to a future is in the education of our youth, and children surviving to age of schooling is far exceeding expected levels! My brothers and sisters, taxes raised 1 percent to accommodate for more room for unexpected numbers, it must be done!

In conclusion, more work and less play means a bright future for Ukrainian People!"

"This concludes mandatory listening period."

We now return to scheduled audio entertainment programs.

Rules for mobilization first puh-wease?
Also, we can use troops hired this turn to attack Brazil?

TLK go on NES Chat?

Fine, I'll go on chat, if you can link me it :P.

And I was thinking, but I don't think I'm going to include economic mobilization. With the technology presented, and the time period, I don't think it would have really happened. Though if a bunch of you disagree.. then I can change it.

Quick History of the Republic of Alaska

Spoiler :
1910-Russian colonists start clamoring for independence after years of Russian rule. Since the late-1800s, the Russian colonists referred to themselves as "Alaskans" more often than not than "Russians".

1915-Germany declares war on Russia. The Tsar demands able-bodied men from across the Russian Empire to fight for the motherland. Alaskan authorities are forced to fulfill the conscription quotas demanded of them by the Tsar.

1917-Revolution sweeps Russia after decades of autocratic rule by the Tsar. Alaska declares independence. The Battle for Sitka Hall breaks out between the remaining royalists and the Alaskan patriots. The patriots include many soldiers in the Russian Army inside the country. The fighting began when Russian loyalists stormed Sitka Hall, believing they would stir up Russian nationalism and trigger a civil war. After several hours, the patriots take back Sitka Hall.

1921-A constitution is finally put into place.
