We have 2 cities without courts that need them. Important ciites, but they can be built quickly.

I think we should build the SPHQ in the ironworks city to reduce corruption. It means waiting for the ironworks to complete. I MM that to minimum turns, but it is still 6 or so turns.

Ya, I forgot about the Mil Acad in the iron work city. I wanted the bonus to the armies now, so built it. You are right that it may cost us down the road though.

The GA was as you wished, Lee - mostly infra of one kind or another. I wouldn't have done things differently if we weren't at war. We didn't need more military units given the narrow choke.

Of course I got the easy part of the war with the choke. Things will get more difficult. You may want to move slowly or not at all during the Anarchy. Best bet is to send cannon after Teo which will take 3 more turns anyway (length of the Anarchy in your turns - I played 3 already).

We have just started courthouses in some core cites? This should have already been built. I checked a few cities near the capitol. I am not going to bother with a full city review until after anarchy is done.

I am seriously tempted to abandon Mendoza just to let us move the military academy. This city was a really bad choice when Iron Works will probably be able to double this cities production.


I sell Fascism to the Mongols for $92/turn and $7. I simply hate the AI having any spare cash.

I end the phony with France with them giving us wm and $115.

Normally I would have to debate the negative consequences of an MPP. However, with our rep trashed I instantly sign the most absurd MPP deal ever with India. We get Scientific Method, Refining, Steel, Replaceable Parts, WM and $66,500. I couldn't get that last $61 from India.


This is unfrelling believable that with all the jungle we are stuck with that we have NO rubber. We do have one lousy source of oil. We will want to hit America soon as there is rubber by New York. To bad Mr. Lincoln only has 6 turns left on the peace deal.


I give China refining for Sanitation and $8,850. I give Replaceable Parts to Babylon for wm and $5,277. I try to suck China dry by giving them Replaceable Parts for $2,695 and $245/turn. I could do more, but we are most likely to be at war shortly due to the MPP. I will at least get the nice cash pile. I buy rubber from China for $110/turn. I hope it lasts longer enough to complete the upgrades.


With going Communism we DON'T want tightly packed cities as that will push up the communal corruption numbers. I abandon New Bahia Blanca, as that area is over-packed.


With our absurd cash situation I will gladly upgrade pikes and spears. I upgrade some stray MDI to guerillas for emergency offensives. The only units I don't bother with for now are the 8 of the 9 spears in Smith's. Yes, I renamed the town. I hate trying to spell the Aztec names. The 9th is worthless for resistance suppression.
(IT) More of those meaningless pop-ups appear. I have no interest in things such as America and Egypt signing peace. I only plant to report the significant ones.

We lost our supply of spices, gems and incense and rubber. I didn't that the MPP against China would trip THAT quick. :(
We get hit with some riots. Normally I would go through the scroll-ahead headache, but it isn't worth it with more anarchy on the way.


I really don't care about an embargo by America and Germany against us.
Well this MPP is going to be a pain as we are now at war with the Songhai.


Well this is exactly why I hate trying to capture capitols. I agree we had to because of Smith's, but it is still a pain. 8 spears are thrown down the toilet.

Smith's has been recovered at the cost of an elite gaucho. The rest of the Aztec war is a holding pattern waiting on upgrades. I upgraded 34 cannon to artillery for $4,080 and don't even blink at the cost. Make that 36 as I found 2 strays.


The workers are simply thickening the rail-net. There are cities only connected by coastal tiles that the AI likes to bombard.


I end the phony war with Greece for $24 and wm.
During the diplomatic check I am disappointed to find NO luxuries for sale.

Still 2 turns of anarchy left...
(IT) We get more meaningless embargoes. I really don't see us trading with Venezuela or Germany.
India declares war on the Aztecs over a frigate bombardment.
India and Persia sign a peace treaty.

If we buildt settlers out of the city till it was down to size 2 (not size 1 because would then autoraze on recapture), then gift it away to an AI we go to war with, then we can recapture the undefended city back with just 1 foreign citizen .. and keep most of the city improvements.. but MA, temple,cath and library would go away since they are culture buildings.

Alternatively leave the city undefended and trick an enemy AI into capturing it from us and then recapture it.. there would be a risk the would just raze the town thou since so near our capital

Infantry now protect the visible Aztec city. No real action on the front except to move the artillery stack forward. I still need the Gauchos to heal.


The misery situation has somehow gotten even worse. We will have a lot of clowns for 1 turn.

(IT) The embargo from France and India is over. The Greek and Aztec embargo ends. The France and Russia embargo ends.
China and Mongolia sign a peace treaty.

We officially become the People's Republic of Argentina.

The MPP drags us into a war with Russia.

(IT) Zululand and Babylon sign a peace treaty. There is too much peace breaking out in the world.
The France and Mongol trade embargo ends.
Egypt and Greece ally vs. the Songhai. Now that is more what I want. Lets have the AIs burning units on each other.

The Aztecs want to talk, but will only give up 2 junk cities. The war shall continue. :hammer:

Our knight army takes 1/2 damage to kill a single 1 HP infantry. We really need some gaucho armies. Thankfully the RNG hears my request.

Teotihuacan is captured for Sun Tzu. We really need to get cities past it as I refuse to have our only ivory source in a high flip-risk city. We catch 4 workers inside the city. Not to mention the fact that I hate to have a front-line city being a flip-risk city. The only wonder left from the Aztecs is the Great Lighthouse. I have no problem burning that wonder.
(IT) Zululand and China ally against us. There goes our source of wines. It is a good thing I didn't adjust our cities yet for the ivory for flip risk fears.
America and the Iroquois sign a peace treaty.
Germany and Persia ally against the Mongols. This ends the Germany and Mongol trade embargo.

I sell the Mongols Sanitation for Incense, Furs, WM, $90 and $10/turn. This solves the happy problems for the moment. The trouble is we are getting stuck with so many wars and embargoes. This makes relying on importing luxuries for happy riskier then normal. With this purchase I get to review all the cities. Now if our ivory city flips...

I just realized a minor bit of weed. I start chopping forest to speed up workers being built in Smith's and All Barracks.
(IT) The embargoes just won't stop. Now we are stuck with Zululand and Australia embargoing us.
The Germany and Venezuela trade embargo ends.

In some ways I wish these cities didn't have such good wonders. I could have just razed these cities and not have to deal with the pain of the flips. 1 rifleman and 2 guerillas are wasted. I am stuck with scroll-ahead to prevent riots.

We get a free embassy from Germany. :crazyeye:

I recover All Barracks. If we didn't have artillery positioned between the 2 it would have been tricky. Not to mention the exposed workers on our side.

Well this puppy burns. I am not ready to deal with a third high flip-risk city just for the tourism income from the Great Lighthouse. This takes some of the cultural pressure off of Smith's and All Barracks. We pick up 6 workers and a bucket for our troubles.

One thing you may be able to do is to bombard the flipped city. This often reduces the size to whatever you want it. Sometimes I don't mind flips because of this. There are few defenders and it is easy knock of population.

You can also do this by letting the AI recapture a town by leaving it empty, but with a big artillery stack close by (usually only let fast units into the city so there is few defenders if any.

Well this downright sucks. The only way to get a luxury back is to help the #1 tech civs of India. I up luxury tax to 20% instead and fire some clowns. I am really getting tired of reviewing cities over happiness this round.

The resistance in Smith's finally ends. I set it to zero growth and worker in 2. At that point we will have it down to just one foreigner.

France must be desperate for maps as they give us $94 and $2/turn for them.
(IT) Egypt must be taking some really strange drugs. The really expected us to sign and MPP with them?

India and China sign a peace treaty. China then talks to us and signs peace for $25. No way to get the rubber due to the embargo.

The Mongols and Iroquois embargo us.


The fifth stock exchange completes and we can build Wall Street. Of course with our cash reserve, I am not sure how much value it has. ;)

A was afraid this might happen. Atlanta's borders expand our attack will be slowed down waiting for a new road net. I won't sign a RoP with America, as we will probably attack them before 20 turns are up.

With moving the Aztec capitol further north the flip risk has dropped further in the 2 key towns.

I sign peace with the Songhai gaining $4 and wm.


It is to bad the Greece is at war with India. They have decent amount of GPT to give away.

New Jujuy is formed. I can tell we are in the late game stage for how long it takes to build a new city.

Summary:
Our happiness situation is still touchy. I would like to get more churches built to not have to depend on imports of luxuries. We are suffering way to many embargoes to get much in the way of luxuries. In addition, we really want our culture rating improved. Once we get into Upper Canada we will be capturing most of the cities. Raze and replace is a waste on size 3 tundra junk. The exceptions would be size 8 Tlapanaloya, the dyes city, etc. I feel new resources are too important to risk a flip on.


The reason for maximum research on Espionage is to build the SPHQ. We can't even build it right now. That is a huge boast to productivity for us. I would also like to build the spy agency at some point.


As soon as the India MPP is over please cancel it. We did a great job of gaining cash and techs from it, but it playing real havoc with trying to keep our people happy. We are getting stuck with a ton on phony wars because of it. I don't want to have to fight to many AIs at once we start landing in Siberia.


I wouldn't bother signing peace with Venezuela. We will be heading into Alaska soon enough.


Don't be afraid to built more workers. Our unit count is 220 out of an allowed 366. The jungle clearing chores haven't even begun. Once America is taken out there is a ton of railroads to complete.


Mendoza is down to size 5. We need to decide on getting rid of this city to move the military academy to Iron Works.

Most of our forces are NOT moved this turn. A decision needs to be made to move north to go further against the Aztecs, or to sidetrack to America to get the Rubber.

Remember 5 to 10 turns per round - STRICT 24 hours got it, total 48 hours to at complete. Once the game starts dragging 48 hours to at least report a status update.

Before I start playing I would want a descision on america thou :)

I think we should let mendoza finish one more settler (2 turns), then gift it to america.
Can then declare on america and take out undefended mendoza and their last 5 remaining cities and get rubber and pyramids.

However since the last settler will take 2 turns, I think it would be best to go for the for the next aztec city first (Tzintzuntzen), and then Miami so we have a roadnet to use to get to america instead of having to build our own

Btw.. we are number 1 in cities and population, number 3 in area after aztecs and china... however they have tons of tundra cities.

I would actually be in no hurry to connect rubber, since our insane amount of cash can be used to upgrade piles of rifles. That may actually generate more foot soldiers faster than building infantry straight up.

Militarily inferior to the Aztecs? We really need a new "advisor" :lol:
 
I like the take out America idea. I would use whosever is up decision on how to get there though.
With Smiths, Sun Tzu's and pyramids on our side of the world, the only one we are missing is Bachs, and that could come soon enough.

JS Bachs is in india I think, and Sixtine in china or something (sixtine works worldwide thou)

We will still want to build Hoovers when that is available.. I doubt aztecs will be able to build it so we will have todo it ourselves.

The coal tile in Iron Works borders a river, so that city should be able to build it I think, else FP city is prolly best bet.

Sorry, but I already upgraded all the spears and pikes except for the 8 flushed away in the Smith's flip. :(
