Hmm.. with all those cavs aztecs has spread out in our territory it does like they are planning to attack.. perhaps buy electrisity from them for gpt and tell them to get out or declare?

Edit: I just realized something.. I thought all the aztec wonders was in the capital.. but its really just shakespares, zeus ans smiths in capital.
GLib, sun tzu and mangellans is in the city right north of capital that has almost identical name.

We will wantto keep both those cities.. plus washington for pyramids

We are number 4 in land and population, and aztecs is number 1 in both..

If the world map is up to date, then aztecs is suffering from heavy pillaging... even looks like the coal next to their capital is pillaged

As for the Choke city location.. just place an army E or NE of it to block off the passage.. might want to change the current build to a wall if attack is imminent thou
 
On the choke, my thought was simply that the defensive bonus would be better if we build a fortress on the iron and put the rifles and/or defensive army on it. Panama Canal won't be up to size 7 right away.

I haven't seen the save. Did they move a bunch of cav onto that spot?
 
The cavs are coming from their two cities in our territory, thus insinuating an attack. I tried as best I could to get some even coverage out to make sure no cities would fall.
I like the buy electricity for lots of gpt, then do the move it or lose it command.
I think that we are ready for a big war, and should at least do a first iteration of a big war, and remove those 2 annoying aztec cities in our rear as well as climb the tech tree some more.

If their cav are headed to the north, they may just be trying to get at the Iroquois and Americans. If there's no SoD coming in from the north then it seems a little unusual unless they're really gassed. Guess we'll find out shortly.
 
The main reason that I suspect an attack is due to the placement of his cavs heading north. They are not taking the shortest route. Instead of heading Northwest, they headed straight north.
Instead of his muskets and MDI's heading straight to the border, they are now heading straight west.
The Aztecs are at war currently with everyone north of us, so I would think that now is the time to strike, as we can build 3 new cities in our lands, and do some damage to his core before infantry show up.
 
On the other side they could just follow the path with highest defensive bonus tiles..

But a war now might not be bad anyway.. most of their forces should be up north fighting iroquois and america, and they dont have infantery yet.. a strike force of cavs and cannons covered with army support could prolly fight all the way up to mexico and the next middle american choke before Aztecs had time to react properly

An army or two could totally tear apart the remaining roadwork in the aztec core and isolate the non coastal aztec capital, cutting all their trade deals
 
Then Gyathaar is right, we should try to get electricity for gpt at the very least. And look at getting some/all of the cats in Panama upgraded to cannons.
 
Quick Summary:
After 1 turn, we are caught up in tech, and at war with the Aztecs. South America is ours.

Preturn: Well if the Aztecs are going to declare on us we could lose some workers. I may have to order them to leave and see what they do.

First I try a steal from the Aztecs. It works. I can trade facism for Electricy and wines if I kick in a bit of gold. I trade Magnetism to Egypt for some gold. I trade Saltpeter to China for 84 gpt. Greece is willing tor trade 198 gpt + 340 gold for Facism. Also get 29 gpt more from persia for Facism.

We now know all techs know to the AI

Note that I didn't really want to do a huge gpt deal and then try to get them to declare. If they didn't declare we would be locked into not fighting them for 20 turns.

Looked at the situation some more - they can strike too many places. I will ask them to leave. If they do, then the war may wait a few turns.

Well they do not seem willing to exit our territory. War it is.

I turn on some animations. I will try to remember to turn the automated stuff back off before I hand it off. Next player may want to check it though.

We now own all of South America. I think we should get 3 extra units a turn for that, but we don't. Wrong game I guess.

I forgot we didn't have RP yet. No Civil Engineers. Well I switch to Courthouses anyway in most corrupt cities. It is unlikely we will finish the current builds before a govt switch.

Iron Works in 24. I plan to speed that up ( I already gave the town preference over the other towns on squares).

The wines mean we can turn off Lux rate.

We can get Sanitation in 13 turns at 100% science at +83 gpt. Decide to go for it. An exclusive tech could give us good cash from China (or tech trade material).

Block off the Pass. It will be intereting to see if the Aztecs attack the Army. I don't think they will

Was this a movement point issue? I prefer not to pass on needed workers and pass misery to our nearest town.

LK, I got commie from Greece during my turnset.
Attack and capture is most likely due to the reach other cities through the cultural border. If he razed, it would take 2-3 turns longer to get troops where they are now.
In wars I think the quick strike on the core is worth more than a handful of workers.

I am all about commie when we get through the main aztec foces.
I would then move the capitol to the aztec capitol, then put the SPHQ in our old capitol.
Our chance to get to commie will probably be delayed till about 20-30 turns from now.

Actually after observing the actions of Greebley and I when we are together in a lineup, not 1 turnset of the two of us back to back has ever led to peace.
Romeo's maxim #1: Putting Greebley and I next to each other in a roster is a recipe for war. (May be useful for future games).
