Looking for a roleplaying campaign.

... I would be interested in playing Perpentach (I consider myself rather good at being insane), but...

I would prefer that the game is a pitboss. If not, make it like 1-2 hour / weekend playsection, using normal multiplayer.

I would need to know what patch you plan on using (and installing it!).

I can see the point in people wanting to play something other than Erebus. That's a team decision, though.

I would like a more liberated approach to wonders/religion. Per example, I could see Balseraph building the Form of the Titan easily. Also, I could imagine them founding either CoE, OO or even Veil... What I am trying to say is that, as long as people can roleplay it, their choices are theirs to make.

I am really hoping that this could work out, I'd have so much fun playing a FfH multi! Especially if I am allowed to roleplay Balseraph... I have some basic experience in being insane, if you need a good read, check the link in my sig. I will be updating that one regularly.

I prefer "big and small" with islands mixed, snaky continents, and low water level (who loves long distance naval battles? Not me). It gives really flavorful continents. Erebus looks unnatural.

My time is -8 GMT. But most of my days open. I can tell if i can attend once a schedule is decided. If your still open to people i would like to play Elohim as Logos. I am very new to the game, And to the lore. But i enjoy it immensely and have trouble finding multiplayer games. Let alone RP. I need mah fix! :-)

Also. The poster of this event may have made a grave error. And may have attracted the wrong audience. He says his time is +6 GMT. Central. There is no +6 central time. At all. I think he means he lives in central America. At -6 GMT. a common mistake

What he says. :)

As as starting this the sooner the better, my time got crunched and I had to go out of town because a client had an emergency and I was needed on site. Im back in town (I had my laptop anyway) however I find my time still crunched while I manage the recovery process remotely.

Anyway there seems to be some conflicting opinions on exactly what we should do. In interest in getting this thing started and due to the fact that my time is more so limited I would like to hand this project over to someone else. I still want the game to happen and with someone elses leadership this will make it happen all the faster. I'm still down to play and he need not change any of the guidelines I put in place. Just I feel bad as everyone wait for me to start the game up.

If no one wants to take up the handle I'll still run it the best I can, Im going over the who wants to be what posts and update that. I still have no idea what a pitboss game is or how it runs, another reason why someone more qualified should run this.

EDIT

Chnaged the starting post,

in interest of keeping this game a little less scripted and more open for people to roleplay choices, I think the religions and wonders guidlines should be dropped. I still think they are good to look at especially with Llamas additions to it, and to keep in mind while playing, but not strictly enforced. Of course everyone wants ride of the nine kings, roleplaying aside, its a powerful wonder! I know that when I play, if my games last that long I always build it no matter who I am playing as (better I should have it than my enemies) I was trying to avoid that mentality while we played but everyone here seems to have a level head and we all want the same thing.

As far as Erebus, I'm open to other map types. To make this fair everyone should vote on a map type they want. Most votes wins.

Also in interest of getting this going, Wednsday will be the final day for sign-ups. I am also going to have to find out more about pitboss, as getting everyone together to play will be a logistical nightmare! Whenever one I will be in the erebus chat to help speed things along and I highly suggest everyone else who plans to play this do the same, this will make coordination much faster.

Can't wait to start this!

I also updated the religion and wonders guidline, keep in mind according to my above post this is just a set of reccommendations, but rules. This is to allow more twists and roleplaying oppourtunities in our game.

You still haven't resolved schedule. You have accidentally placed yourself on the opposite timezone of your players. If you wish to "GM" the game you are going to be up at very odd hours. Is there anybody at the "proper" timezones to take up the torch. Now that ive seen this I going to withdraw my offer of play. Not in my timezone. But I wish you guys best of luck. I will have to keep searching.

Ok, I propose we start this game at GMT 3PM this Saturday (jan 24) if people are still interested, We'll just see how many people turn up and go from there.
we'll use Hamachi and Direct IP connect- The Hamachi channel is Erebusgame.
Anyone can join just try and play your civ as flavourful as possible, thanks!

EDIT- If the time is unsuitable for most we can start later it doesn't matter to me.

I will try to see if I can be there. Might need to get Hamachi on the comp though, only have it on my laptop (which cant run ffh). The time suits me nicely, as does the date. Here's hoping I am able and do remember.

Instead of Hamachi, why don't we use the erebus chat that the link is on this forum? 3pm EST sounds fine.

3PM GMT would be 10AM EST.....

What's Hamachi and how do I get it?

Guess I need to do some research

Oh, I didn't read it correctly. I would prefer slightly later, but I can make 10am EST

Hello! If this is play by email, I would like to play (I do not have internet at home, only at work. As I understand it, I could play the game at home and email the file while at work, yes?) I would like to play as either Elohim, Lanun, or Kuriotates (in that order).

Also, in regards to assigning religions and Wonders, I think you may want to be a bit more lenient and not assign them. I think as long as people follow the spirit of whatever leader and civ they get, things will be fine. Too many things can be determined by event and chance. For example, if a player starts a game surrounded by islands and water, maybe they will want the Great Lighthouse. If I am happily playing as the Elohim, and I happen to get that event where you are gifted dwarves, maybe I will stop going for Empyrium and head for Way of the Earthmother. Did I just start right next to the Broken Sepulcher as the Kuriotates? Perhaps I unearthed an ancient tome that teaches me the secrets of demon worshipping.

There are limits, of course. I seriously doubt the Ljosalfar will switch to AV, even if they happen to stumble upon a free acolyte unit, as that kills their forests. The Calabim will probably not start following Lugus just because they start next to the Mirror of Heaven (heck, their settler would probably run).

Some of the Wonders could even have prerequisite events needed for them, such as "City of a Thousand Slums: You must have just recovered from a great war, or border someone that was recently on the losing side of a war" to symbolize mass amounts of immegrants coming to your land.

Just some ideas. I love roleplaying and I love FFH, so this sounds like a lot of fun.

Oh, and I am in Japan (where will you be Llama?), so I am GMT+9.

Good idea Dux, everyone should meet up in:
http://erebus-chat.tk/
although we'll still need hamachi to actually play, I've never played by email and would prefer to play a normal game, the time does seem a little off for most people so how about we make it GMT 6PM? then for people like StormbringerGT who are GMT -6 it is more suitable.

Hamachi is a free software- https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/vpn.asp?lang=en
As for the rules of the game just try and ropleplay your civ: so if you were playing Elohim you would use civics like pacifism and the like etc the aim isn't to win after all, just have fun.
Verdian- I like your idea for The city of a Thousand Slums also a lot of what you say makes sense if we play like that it is far more fun.
