Looking PBEM/or New PBEM Game!

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'm not super keen on having my email address out in the open. I'm guessing that is also why Yabur spelled out "at" instead of @, which you edited into the first post.

I can PM it to everyone in the game.

That's precisely why I did that. That e-mail's my main one, so I try to avoid it getting spammed whenever I can. Though Yahoo's spam blocker is good enough that if it does get printed like it has been above, I don't freak out.

LOL now you guys are helping me learn more than just how to host PBEM.

So are game settings okay then? Or were you all just distracted by me being an uber noob?

It's all good in the hood. All the settings seem just fine. Personally, I've yet to play past Warlord setting, but you know what? This seems a good a time as any to do so.

I want to wait for the weekend to give rbkhockey and fegguk time to confirm.

But; if you guys think it's a good idea I'm okay with making it [tiny] size and getting started with the three of us.

Because both of you look responsible about taking turns quickly.

Welcome to the game dr_s. That makes 6 assuming fegguk and rbkhockey show up. Do you guys think a little bigger map size is in order yet?

Maybe one size up. I'm probably not the best guy to ask, since I like big maps, and I'm inexperienced in PBEM

Standard settings are five civs for small maps (player + 4 AI) or seven for standard maps (player + 6 AI). If we use low sea levels, it seems like a small map for six players is better.

Okay so we have 6 players now. I am going wait for fegguk today and tomorrow but then start the game (he only posted in the thread once so I don't know when he's coming back). And I don't want to lose momentum.

Is everyone okay with this?

Also, tonight (or tomorrow) I will send a practice save to everyone. Just to confirm compatability. Note that this is not the real game. Please check your eMails and when you get the save take a turn and send it back to me.

Can I still join you?
Just started in a Pitboss game on Realms of Beyond, but I'd like to do a PBEM as well.

1. your time zone: GMT +1
2. what time each day you expect to make your turn: between 19-22
3. your civ and leader preference: Darius of Persia
4. any map option preferences (game speed, size, huts, barbarians, map type etc.): Normal, Standard (with 6-7 players), huts off, barbs on, Lakes map?
5. eMail address: PM-ed to Negative_Suns

Wow what a sudden influx of people!

I think there are two options:

1. We go up to 8 players and make the map standard size. I like this option and it feels fun. I will only do this however if the other players already joined vote for it.

[my only concerns with this option is that 8 players might end up increasing the time between turns greatly. we would have to be careful to take our turns quick]

2. Or I can just start a new thread for another newbie PBEM once this game had started.

So what does everyone think? Go up to 8?

dr_s right now we are only waiting for TurdFerguson to PM me his eMail. If we can get these additional two players information (which I already have for Nakor) before TurdFeruson gives me his eMail then there will be no additional delay.

But I agree with your point! It is important that we keep our momentum going and get this game started ASAP.
