I'm playing on a huge map with 8 civs (patched 1.29f).
At one moment, it completely lost the Palace improvements I had and it started from scratch.
Besides (and this is very annoying), in the diplomacy screen, it shows no relationship ties between AI civs.
Again, some civs I already know started making war between themselves (I casually saw them battling) without any news given by my advisor (is this normal?)
Are these problems given by the huge map?
Should I reinstall CivIII (I already posted that I'm experiencing extremely slow functioning)?
Thx

First, are you trying to use a fan-made mod? If so, it may not be compatible w/ the mac Civ3 version.

Second, huge maps cause significant drag in game-play on most machines.

Third, do you have embassies w/ the warring civs? If not, your advisor is incapable of knowing the information.

What Dojoboy said. Plus:

- What Mac OS are you running? If it's OS 9 you need to ensure that Civ3 has enough real memory.

- Do you mean the Palace picture went back to a cave dwelling? Sounds strange, and I've never seen a report of it before. Note that this image is purely cosmetic, for entertainment only, and has zero effect on actual game progress or score or whatever.

Given the Palace misbehaviour, I would recommend reinstalling CivIII, though you may not get your Palace improvements back in existing saved games, as the Palace status is recorded in the save file.

Maybe this is a feature never discovered before, where one's leadership may be so pathetic, the people begin taking back palace imrovements! Teasing of course Starstaff. ;)

Yes, the palace went back to the cave status!
I had to redo it my self through a heavy mortgage...

dojoboy, about the "taking back improvements", you could be perfectly right! This game is going awfully bad - mainly because I started in a resource-free faraway island :( and this is not *ideal* in an huge archipelago map...

Ok, I'm running 10.2.8 and it WAS sluggish, but pls read my other thread about this.

Ok, I had no embassies: this explains no advisor's warnings. (I forgot about this, sorrysorry)

About the leaders not showing their respective relationships in the foreign advisor's screen, again, this is very annoying as it gives you the feeling that they're playing by themselves, leaving you out! (expecially true if you're in last-but-one rank :( )

I'm using a mod downloaded from this forum (don't remember the name but it's the one with "better balance") but it worked fine up to now, i.e. this is not my first game played with it installed.

Boh?
