General Hernandez sat at the table with all of the high ranking officers and advisors in the Peoples Liberty Movement. Everyone appeared to be tense as if they sat on a bomb and didnt know if or when it would go off. The first man to speak was the Major on the Generals right side. We need to make a true nation so others will actually take us seriously. Everyone nodded at this obvious conclusion but waited to see how the general would respond before anyone else spoke.
General Hernandez was visibly uncomfortable with the statement as everyone suspected he would be; fighting a revolution was far easier than winning one. General Hernandez thought to himself about all of South America that was still under foreign rule. British, Portuguese, or now North American. All those brothers and sisters who still needed to be free. But, the world would never take them seriously until they announced a nation and sent out ambassadors and began to play the political game with all those giants. The general sighed heavily and then spoke, Yes, we need to become a nation.
The tension in the room left it and discussion began, pouring over maps, and even a few fist fights occurred. At the end General, now President of the provisional government stood. We are now the Republic of Venezuela, our capital is Caracas, and we will not be shoved aside or become a puppet ever again. The freedom of South America will spread, we are just the start. Cheering erupted all around the table as the goal appeared to be in sight and a reality, no longer hiding in jungles and in cellars. They had a name, a capital, and a government. Public notices are sent to all corners of Venezuelan controlled land, and into neighboring border regions so as to inform the populace there that Venezuela is now a sovereign nation.
Diplomatic Effect- Ambassadors have been sent to most nations announcing the Republic, and attempting to open ties the exceptions are Iraq and the Arabic Union.
