You may attempt to fight us, and lose, or you may listen to the deal we have to propose: we will trade land with Mexico to create a stable border along the 23rd Parallel (OOC: a line immediately south of Mazatlan, the former Sonoran capital). This will result in a roughly equivilent exchange of land between Mexico and the Louisianan Empire, slightly favoring Mexico. We will then sign a Defensive Alliance.

We will accept peace under the following pretences

- Austria acknowledges all land lost to Italy and allows it to be annexed by the Holy Unified Republic of Italy. (HURI)
- Austria pays a restitution of 2 economic points for the starting of this war.
- The Austrian Emperor abdicates the thrones of Austria and Hungary and allows for a referendum of the remaining people

In Austria the referendum would include

- Becoming a independent Republic
- Continuing to be a monarchy under the current Emperor's son.

In Hungary the referendum would be.

- Becoming an indpendent Republic
- Becoming an indpendent Monarchy
- Continuing to be a part of Austria under the system their chose for themselves.

Indpedent inspectors from yet unnamed countries would be present at said elections to ensure their legitimacy.

The invasion of Italy on Austria's part was a mistake. However, dismantling their empire is unessecary and dangerous. Instead we purpose that the Austrian pay reperations to the Italian government and pull from the peninsula. The invasion of Italy on Austria's part was a mistake. However, dismantling their empire is unessecary and dangerous. Instead we purpose that the Austrian pay reperations to the Italian government and pull from the peninsula. Our country understand that Austria was wrong in their ambitions to invade your homeland. That is why we are asking them to withdraw and pay the Italian government for their losses. However, we do not see forcing the Austrians to split and fall apart is a fair peace like you have purposed. It will seriously disrupt the power of balance we have in place in Europe. British soldiers and sailors did not lose their lives in this war, and thus British diplomats will have no say in its outcome. Meanwhile the Holy Unified Italian Republic seeks only to ensure that the Austrian menace does not grow to such a point once again where it can re-attempt its invasion which as our intelligence suggests is a prime example of what it seeks to do.

We will not bow down to your demands, no matter how disguised they are in what is termed 'correct diplomacy' We will however champion peace, but no more will Austria be an Empire to strike fear in the hearts of its neighbours. Simple money will not replace the servicemen lost in this war, their families anguish nor prevent such events from occuring again in the future.

While we are more than happy if Hungary chooses to remain united with Austria in the future, we will not return Tyrol or Tristie, both parts of newly redeemed Italy that the Austrian Hasburgs stole from us long ago. I am glad that we can agree that Austria should not have invaded Italy. However, your assertion regarding Austria's unity appears wholly untrue; if Austria cannot even hold itself together in the face of a minor war, it does not deserve the status of a united country. A powerful nation ready to collapse into chaos at any moment is a danger to all of Europe, surely you can see that. It would be best for all were Austria broken into more manageable parts that would not descend into near-anarchy at the first sign of danger. We fully support Italy's proposal, which, I am told, is also favored by the Hungarian population of Austria.
