LuckNES2: The Fatal Balance

To the Republic of France

We protest to you, your unwarranted invasions of the German Reich and the British Empire. Yes they have been treacherous and despicable but just because you fly the Republican banner, does not mean that we will immediatley turn a blind eye to your own treachery and despicability.

Thus we retain the neutrality we declared at the outbreak of hostilities and kindly ask you to consider the consquences of your actions in regards to the balance of power you are 'protecting'

We respect Italy's neutrality, but we do not believe it is in the duty of the Italian government to lecture the Republic of France on what is "despicable" or "treacherous". Should the Italian government believe that the German Reich is right, then perhaps the Italian government should declare war on the French Republic rather than leveling insults at it and proclaiming a supposed "neutrality."

If you say that then why was there not a revolt for France in occupied parts of Spain

The region which France owns is Catalonia, and Catalonia is very different from Spain proper. Historically, the people of Catalonia have had very close ties to the French, and historically, the people of Catalonia have also never liked Spanish dominion over them. That argument is moot, therefore.

We do not feel that it is the Republic of Scandinavia's duty to lecture us on our diplomacy to the Republic of France, and we do not believe the truth of the invasions you and France committed, instead of the propoganda that you have put out in an attempt to sway the people of Europe to your cause, should be ignored simply because you make such comments.

As the Holy Unified Italian Republic is a sovereign nation under the guidance of His Holiness, then we will continue to make such comments where we see fit. If the situtation was reversed rest assured we would still be making similar comments about treachery and despicability from the other side, but lets not forget who started this war.

Random curses for completely forgetting that. Oh well, next turn shall be their downfall. Less surprise, but better orders (especially without worrying about INES, however unfortunate that may be), and more money shall help a lot.

OOC: I must say that silver's plans for Indian "nationalism" in well, the British Raj is a bit overblown ;) The Raj System after all, is still in place as you surely know silver and I'm sure to the Indian Princes the British are a better option then Mysore :p

We are saddened by this display of defeatism in the face of tyranny by our allies, but we understand your desire to remain neutral.

What defeatism? We are merely saying that we feel you have gone to far in your invasions of Germany and the British Empire. The very balance of power you purport to protect is now under threat from your manovering. This is not defeatism this is protesting your whole premise for war.

Dearest Japan,

We changed our minds! Piss off out of Asia proper, or Japan will burn. As in, the territory. The Home Islands, you know. Your *actual* territory. We'll invade it and stuff. Yeah. So, umm, bugger off, punk!

Love and kisses,
Chinaaaa

*sigh*

fantasmo, if you had any confidence in your ability to win this war you wouldn't have gone running to alex the first second you could. My offer stands just one more day.

Thomander: The inclusion of Manchuria was aimed to be an insult. Yes, I know my enemy a little.

If you think we have gone too far, why not throw your hat in with them? ;)

While I DO think you have gone to far, I have no love for them either, both sides are and can be as bad as each other.

I didn't. He said he wanted to take it, though he was mad at the time, and I ended up agreeing. My lack of confidence only played a small part. I never went running to anyone. Besides, I can't do China justice, I'm crap. I'd much rather it be in the hands of someone who can do a good job with China, rather than someone who just enjoys the marvel of engineering that is building a system of forts through the Himalayas in just a year.

Quite the different story than the one I got from Alex. From his point of view, you asked him to take China to prevent its defeat. Then again, he told me wouldn't take it. Leads me to wonder about what Alex is playing. Anyways, China was doomed from the beginning to be invaded- there is simply no such thing as a peaceful Japan (well, before WWII). You were just the unluck one to focus upon a different enemy.

OOC: Darkening, I said I was considering my options :p And really, I never gave a definite answer, you merely interpreted it as you wish ;)

I would like to formally announce that I am now the Qing Empire of China.

Excellent. I'd like to declare now that no punches will be held back. Let's see if you can manage to (probably) save China once more.

Well lets see. I am getting complaints from someone who will remain anonymous unless he so chooses to come forth. That my modding abilities have screwed this nes up. It is discouraging to say the least. I want your opinions on it.

Other than a few grammer errors, I see no problems. And if its China, consider this: its well known that fantasmo predicted an invasion from Silver- thus I'd be willing to bet that he had alot of his army stationed in the south. I took a gamble, and it paid off.

Well, I do have a few minor complaints but other then that I think you are doing a good job. Maybe take a little more time updating because I think you rush the updates out without fully reading orders. This is your first time and it is a learning experience as this is my first time playing a major power. I have learned a lot. Managed to hold out well despite the all out attack on our alliance. I just hope my allies will keep playing and PM me (still waiting). Swissempire had a similar problem except it was the other way around.

Just a suggestion. You usually get an update a day after or even of the day we send orders in. Maybe take few more days updating and reading on history to make sure things are done properly.

One reason why I do not wish to mod a historical NES for some time. I have plans for future NESes but I am going to wait until I got a proper conclusion for FarowNES which I do plan to bring to at least the late enlightenment age before closing it.

Perhaps you should PM some mods who have done such NESes like das, Sheep, and many others for advice. Keep this NES going and if people criticize you just take it contructively and try and do better next time. I have made huge errors in my NES but I have learned and I try to do better each time.

OOC: I can take two guesses as to who it is.

The writing could be a little more polished and checked, and some colonization has happened a bit too quickly (Canada mostly; then again there's not much up there, and the African colonization seems to be taking more realistic (or at least 'dasian') time, so not a big deal) but I don't have much in the way of concerns.

Orders have been horribly misinterpreted before on several occasions by various mods, and that generally seems to imply (to me at least) that they weren't that clearly written, though that's by no means a fact. I'd say the only way to do such a claim justice would be to compare the orders to the events in public and form a concensus, but honestly modding's not about democracy anyway.
