I decided to base the next few RPCs I play based on a poll. So feel free to vote for 3 option you would like see after Charlemagne II. Note I have better descriptions in my Summary link.

Hmm, I feel like a lot of these options just mean "take over the world." Boudica, Napoleon, Stalin, Rameses... to me the best ones are really thematic, like Joao or Brennus. Win however you want, but with the right conditions for flavor.

That's why I set up a Poll! The choices are War or Peace, and select your method!

Joao for me. I seem to recall seeing an SG based on this some where. Taking over the new world will be pretty fun as the barbs will probably have built a few cities by the time you get there in force. The UU would be killer for this and you get to leverage his traits TWICE in one game with some rexing!

Also looks like my second choice - KISS - is doing well. The agony of choice!

For me KISS.... will be trade route time, most surely ;)

And please, that Idea for João is dreadful... do you really think that the Portuguese love the idea of running away from their homeland just for fun?.....

Hey, my family are runaway Portugese!!!

My mother's family immigrated to the hawaian Islands from Portugal. y father's parents fled Fascist Spain.

SO I was born and razed in America, being of Portugese and Spanish decent. I considered myself Iberian in School :D

Lets see:

I'm portuguese, my parents are Portuguese, my grand parents are portuguese... well, I beat you :p I think I'm a litle bit more qualified to talk about Portugal and portuguese than you ;)

BTW You mother's family emigrated from where?( Probably Azores or Madeira...most of the Hawaian portuguese descendants are from there )

P.S.
SO I was born and razed in America
Which civ razed you? you should take avenge ASAP...

I picked the Joao scenario bc of the ridiculous difficulty. Would be interesting..

Damn, now I am writing like a Civfanatic!!!!

Not sure what part of Portugal my Mom's grandparents came from. My mom was raised in alot of poverty and rather uneducated and grew up in the fringes of Honolulu. So she knows alot more Hawaiian customes than Portugese. My grandfather died early, my grandmother remarried and moved to NYC about 2 years before Pearl Harbor. I'ld ask my mother when I visit next. She has Alzheimer's but she remember her childhood pretty well although she can't remember what she ate for breakfast! Now, my mother, grandmaother, and Aunts are overweight and rather nasty indiduals with a propensity for diabetes and strokes (although they made great grandmothers), now does that define a specific region of Portugal, or is that an acquired Hawaian trait!

My father's parents both from farming families from the Spanish city of La Caruna which I believe is a coastal Port just north of Portugal!

Now that I have you here, she has insisted on my daughter's calling her Vovo. She insisted that was Portugese for grandmother but I never checked it with a Portugese Dictionary. So Grandma Vovo sound legit?

So the Bottom line is I have blood lines from Joao and Isabella, with the upbringing of Roosevelt/Lincoln, married to a distant relative of Washington who has Bismark/Frederick Blood in her veins.

And finally, what does that make my kids!!!!

Vóvó is a legit short form of Avó ( grandmother ) in spite of being more used in Brazil than in Portugal. And La Coruña/Corunha is in Galicia/Galiza, the region of Spain that borders Portugal to the North. The galician language is pretty much like Portuguese ( in fact language experts group both in just one, the Galaico-Portuguese )....

P.S Historical nitpicking: João and Isabella were cousins... what exactly are you implying with having blood from both ?

Actually, my father's sister married her first cousin so there is some history of that in the family!

Thanks for the mini-historical lesson! My Dad died when I was young but his sister's did tell me somewhat of the family story line before they passed away also. I know my Uncle was a Spanish Farmer before marrying my aunt. He gre an amazing garden in NY, bteer produce than you could get from a supermarket.

And thatnks for the clarification of Vovo or Avo! I guess since my Mom didn't spell English that well (maybe that's where I get my typing from) I can give her a pass term!

I vote for Rosevelts attonement, just to see how you would go about befriending Toku. I sense a lot of frustration in those attempts coming up.

I'd love to see the Old World -> New World scheme being played out. KISS looks interesting as well but it will amount to building a trade/merchant economy once more, which you had in an earlier game already.

The Boudica idea looks interesting also, but it will amount to a lot of warmongering and I'm not interested in that :-).

I voted for KISS, Restless Joao, and the Magical Inca.

While I would be interested from a gamers perspective to see the three city culture win, I think the Joao game would have a lot more personality and challenge. Either way, I wanna try and contribute a little since I seem to spend more time on the forums reading about the game than actually playing it.:mischief:

Although you might want to pick one that won't require multiple tries. You seem to be picking harder variants as you go along. But no matter what happens, the RPCs are still great entertainment. Keep it up!:goodjob:

All these ideas had me think of one. Try to get two predetermined civ's pleased/friendly with each other. Although, this could be very easy or very hard depending on how things work out. Maybe you could just go the hard way and try to do it with the first two civs involved in a war. Don't know who you would want to be though, Churchill/Lincoln/Gandhi the Diplomat????

Haha, that reminds me of Montezuma and Roosevelt in the earth 18 civ scenario. Montezuma will ALWAYS wipe out Roosevelt.
