Okay, got it. Do we want to do a little early war? THere's not much good land to expand into, so this may be our best chance...

lurker's comment: You really need to learn how to convert the screenshots to jpg btw.. all the pictures are bmp-files with .jpg file endings :) (they are huge)
If using paint, select 'save as' and choose JPEG in the 'Sav as type' pulldown list

3000BC (0): We're building a settler. And we're size two, growing in nine. The settler is due in seven. And a chop is gonna complete. Not good.

We also need a curragh. Switch to a curragh.

IT: WTH the warrior is on auto-explore/move????? And he moved in the wrong direction!!! :mad: [pissed]

2950BC (1): Stop the misguided warrior.

2900BC (2): ...

IT: Curragh --> Barracks

2850BC (3): Chop finishes, starts road.

2710BC (6): Hia kicks us out.

IT: Ceremonial Burial --> Writing

2670BC (7): CB and WC to Hia for Bronze Working. Start IW on max instead.

IT: Barracks --> Archer

2550BC (10): :sleep:

And here's the save and the situation:

Heh... I always accidentally press "E" when making a worker road, so it's okay. :)

Besides, your SG, your house rules. ;)

Lovely, oh so lovely.

Confirming I'm in.

And Happy Hiawatha has to go back to the Big Lake Gitchigummee where he can sleep with the Giant Pike.

Oh, and please note that the only source of fresh water on this island is the gitchi gummee.

I would rather build on the gold hill and the tile two tiles east of the gold hill, because we're seafaring and I don't see the benefit of placing those cities inland.

I still can't play, (I'll get DSL connection monday morning)
Skip me please.

So if Leha skips, I'm up, will play tonight.
This really is a useless piece of rock. Nice going MadV.
Let's hope Hia doesn't find a horse on his half of the island. Why not build 2 more cities first, 1 north of the sugar (will give us the cow), 2 on the hill 3SE. Then use these 3 cities, to build some archers and claim the island. When just using the one Trontheim I'm afraid we woun't be able to build enough archers. T is allready at 3 so we could chop some trees to help settler building. Besides we need some unit support, with just one city we won't be able to research at all paying all those archers.

IW in 7 are losing 1gpt still 10 in reserve.
Hia will improve the cow for us, we'll repay him shortly.

My advise on next turns: Get another city on the hill 3SE then start building veteran archers/swords.
At least Grand River is on a hill, so I hope we get iron or it'll take al lot of archers to smoke them out.

didn't take a screenie as alle the land was allready known. Maybe next player can add one again? Didn't go in the goody hut yet, As we're low on defence (didn't want to risk losing the worker). If hia has iron we'll have to take it out once we start our war. The warrior is still in the north and can pillage the horse/iron. War will take a bit longer when hia produced a couple of horses. They keep running away when losing, and hia will have an attack of 3 on them so his counter attack should be feared.

The Iroquois will almost never build MWs when they have iron. So it's one or the other. (Of course, I'm hoping the swordsmen)

I think you're overestimating the Iroquois. Five or six archers and a spear should be enough to take Salamanca. The Iroquois are in expanding mode, building lots of settlers. Settlers means cities. Cities means undefended cities. That means he'll be building defense.

If he has iron and horses, we either get both, the horses, or neither. If he has horses but not iron, we must get the horses. If he has neither, then great. :D

Gitchi gummee- isn't it the iroquois name for Lake Superior?

No Iroquois in Minnesota or Wisconsin, only Sioux, Objibwe. Gitchigummee was Longfellow's name for Superior. For all that Iroquois didn't have a horse culture either, and only the Nez Perce rode spotted Appaloosas.

Anyway, got it. Play tonight.
