Mafia: Information, Announcements, and Discussion

If you mouse over the time-stamp, it gives you the exact time.

It actually does (I'm editing it in), but for mafia games where you get hundreds or even thousands of posts in the space of a few days it's a complete slog to pause and let the mouse hover over each post.

Posts used to have visible timestamps instead; now we only get ‘X minutes ago’ and after a day or two all you get is the day in which a post was made

FWIW, if you hover your mouse over the this, it will give you the timestamp, but it's less visible and that probably doesn't work if you're not browsing on a computer.

Yes, we discussed that just above. I simply cannot check about smartphone users, but as I said, having to hover your mouse over every individual post considerably slows down reading the thread which is detrimental to just a high-speed game as mafia.

On computers you see it for the first day, but then all you get is the day unless you try and hover the mouse over each timedaystamp.

I definitely have timestamps on a computer.

Exactly. I've been testing it and it's for about 7 days.

This is how this forum software implemented date/time for some reason. It goes today/yesterday/x-day at time, but then just defaults to just the date after 7 days. Instead of date at time like if does for the most recent seven days.

If someone would like to host something, please invite me :)

You also need to spam that thread with 10 posts to get your post count up to whatever it takes to be able to PM, so have at it.

Speaking of which, @Golden1Knight, same to you. Reminder to do so!

could you tell me what are pros/cons of hosting game at mafiauniverse, as opposed to hosting it here?

Uuuh, a Star Wars game. We used to have those around here.

I, personally, detest Xenforo and prefer the vBulletin software at MU, plus I like the hosting tools, automatic vote counts, more forum skins, far more features and whatnot.

However, that is a much larger site, and consequently it can feel somewhat impersonal compared to the intimate nature of playing on your home board which you're familiar with and contains a player list which is quite familiar.

Sometimes on MU you get randos joining your game who are only interested in their own stats and personal glory and blaming anyone else up to and including the game host, rule set, and moderators when they don't win, or they just don't give a bleep about playing the game and lolvote for rounds at a time without reason and hammer rounds early for no reason, before others get to play or defend themselves.

To each their own! That's why I'm mainly hosting invitationals only from now on. I gotta know you before I let you in my games these days. Mostly.
