Mafia/NOTW Statistics

Unlike me, where I say I'm no good at it and there's apparently several years of statistics to back that up. ;)

Well it's always nice to be able to back up any claims with some solid statistics!

It is better to have loafed and lost, than never to have loafed at all. :coffee:

 All credit goes to my teammates in every game. :p

Yea, there's a fair bit of luck involved

I remember especially jumping mafia, where nothing I did helped town winning at all, and I was very surprised when we just suddenly won.

Aspiring rapper mafia I think is the only game I felt like I did a good job, I think, and there was luck involved there as well, with the high posting newcomers and a notion that I'm a newbie and all.
Not saying I'm not:shifty:

If I can contribute during a mafia game, anyone can.

Okay, caught up again (that surely won't last long), I finish with minor tidbits:

-If it looks like some of Renata's stats just got better for no reason, well, there is a reason for that- looking at her stats after mentioning her as being one of the few top-20-in-every-winning-percentage players made me wonder why she had a WoG, and then I remembered that's what I counted her as in NOTW XXIX: Hired Swords. It was what made the most sense to me at the time, but looking back it, considering the circumstances and the timing (early on, due to accidentally sort of breaking the game through no fault of her own), I figured it made more sense to just count her as if she wasn't in the game at all, and that's probably what I'd do these days if something similar to that happened again. So, TL;DR: Renata has one fewer game, and slightly improved winning percentages both overall and as a townie.

-I've been for a long time bothered by the "Current" Winning Streaks sections- for one thing, it seems cutting it off at 3 doesn't give much to list there, but it's hard to reduce that without getting ridiculous numbers of 2-game winning streaks. For another, it's hard to call a winning streak "Current" when the only reason it hasn't been interrupted is that the holder of the streak hasn't played in 3 years. So, I ask all of you:

Should I leave it the way it is, with Streaks limited to 3 or more, and only interrupted when the holder of the streak actually loses a game?
Should I change it to stop listing streaks as Current if they're held by a long-inactive player?
Should I make that change, and then also list Active 2-game winning streaks, for some or all of the categories?

I'd leave alone the other three categories, listing Most Wins in a Row Overall/As Mafia/As Town that list the longest streaks regardless of whether they're active streaks or not.

I agree to the first two.

I agree with Joan.

Why am I listed as only winning one game as mafia? Winston and I won in Demon Council and the women won in Jarrema's magically duelling game.

might have been listed as not a mafia game.

(cause impossible to lynch mafia ;))

also i was the sole winner :p

Yeah, I decided that that and games like Snakes and Foxes and Dissension were mafia-ish but not enough so to count for the purposes of this thread.

Taking into account his positive ratio as neutral/other (Sam being the only other player with >1 game to be in the black), as well as the second place spot in the scum rankings, Double A is objectively the best non-town player in CFC history. :king:

That is indeed hilarious.

The April Fools' Avatar Switch just claimed its first casualty: I briefly wondered why Double A was just talking to himself.

I've never found his mafia or neutral performances particularly memorable, just as I've never found his town performances particularly memorable, but my stats insist that he's 6-3-1 in 10 total games as a neutral or a mafia.

His last two mafia performances, in The Underground and Return to Ciretako, he died at night early on (was night killed in Ciretako, and attacked one of the few people in the game that could kill him in The Underground), and then his team was brought to victory by the surviving members (Or, put another way, he was teammates with ATPG and BL and they're really good at being mafia)

I'm surprised you can't remember his other two mafia victories in Princess Bride and White Walkers (WW was the only time he was mafia and didn't die)- you were the host for both of them. :p

The other three games he was mafia that he didn't win were TF2 Mafia (that's the draw), Dark Souls II Mafia (loss) and Mafia Game Taking Place in the East (loss)

I'm having a bit more trouble finding which games he was neutral in- seems they all happened before I started bothering to list the results of every game in this thread. My first thought was either It's a Long Story or Court of the Momus (where everyone was neutral), but it seems he wasn't in either of those.

Looking through some of the more notable old games, I find him as the neutral Gollum/Smeagol in LoTR Mafia and a member of the neutral Native American faction in Those Darn States, but I haven't yet found the third game he was neutral in.
