Main Download Information

Any word on what may be causing my crashes? When I load an Autosaved game it crashes within 2 turns as well.

I've loaded up ROM 2.9 and the newest version of AND, and consistently between turn 4 and turn 200 I get a CTD and this C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Temp\WERDE59.tmp.version.txt
C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Temp\WERFA00.tmp.appcompat.txt
C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Temp\WER6A4.tmp.mdmp

Also, when I start a new game or load one I always have to change my resolution to see anything other than the map and units. If I switch resolution then switch back, I'll see everything, but no matter what resolution I start on it won't show me any information.

One final thing, the Tech advisor won't let me move my tech screen. All I ever see are the 1st few techs.

I need a copy of a save (any that crashes will do) and your A New Dawn.log, located in the root of the Rise of Mankind folder. Thanks. ;)

Maybe this has been covered somewhere in the thread, but I haven't been able to find it though.

I'm currently playing BtS with RoM 2.9. I would very much like to use A New Dawn.

How do I manage this; is A New Dawn a replacement mod for RoM or do they somehow have to be merged?

TIA!

Ciffor

Just install AND on top of the latest RoM. They're designed to work together :)

Just wondering; will Vincentz Ultimate mod updates be included in the next AND? He's made several changes to how industry, jungle camp and a few others work.

Still ETA today at some point? Me hopey so.

Rise of Mankind is considered a "Stand Alone Mod" because it comes with everything you need to play it. A New Dawn is not a stand alone mod, because it requires Rise of Mankind to install. Hence the term "Expansion". To install, simply direct the installer to the location of your Rise of Mankind folder. ;)

just out of curiosity, why are ideology civics not checked by default in the custom installation? I understand that means that they are not in the recommended installation, but was there some sort of fight over them that caused that?

One thing, I successfully installed New Dawn, but when it ended, I got an error message saying that something was trying to pop up and I didn't have any program for it. It was the same message I got when I first got Rise of Mankind and tried to open the .rar file without 7-zip. I remember the last time I downloaded it there was another application in the Rise of Mankind folder that I needed to run, it seems that the download just did what that application did so I'm not sure if I need that application anymore.

No; I'm trying to make the Recommend a combination of new content and new gameplay. I didn't feel that Ideology civics added to the game.

Recommended Install is a bit like "Flavor of the week" so take it with a grain of salt. It's meant to be a base; a minimum of what you should play with, so new users aren't overwhelmed with choices. Personally, I don't even use the Recommended Install...

I should add that... Flavor of the week. ;)

lol, ok. I added them anyway. I just played my first game with 1 more gb of ram and windows 7.... and my game crashes x_x . I installed the nvidea update and will restart my computer in hopes that I can play this great mod again :)

You need to download Java.

I always use the custom option.

Ah danm it, thats probably why the thing keeps crashing after my 11th or 12th turn. Well since I don't have the application to uninstall rise of new dawn, i'll just uninstall the whole thing, download java, and reinstall the whole thing.

sorry, I keep on having problems x_x. Can you look at my post in the main ROM forum about my problems now with downloading ROM?
well I successfully downloaded Rom by putting it on the desktop. I have java now. When the application was done loading I got the message that what it was trying to bring up was corrupt so it was unable to.

I installed it with some errors in the 7 zip. When I tried to load it I got this error message:

Heading: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Text- Runtime Error!
Program: ...er's\Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information
