In the UK they are (or were until very recently, someone more informed like Rambuchan or Davo can update me) 100% legal when not dried.

Both are alcaloids structurally related to tryptophan. And, like LSD, you also may have bad trips. I don't know about the likelihood of having flashbacks.

If it's shrooms.. I've done that a couple of times... I definitely gives you a feeling of over awereness of reality. I seriously think it's not just a feeling... it actually increases the number of neurotrasmetteurs in your brain.. making the connections faster in your analysing process. You think faster and who knows what else an exces of neurotransmetteurs can do to your brain... thus the feeling of over awereness.

On the other hand, I'm 100% sure that an abuse of it can cause paranoia and schitzophrenia.

As for calling it a mythical experience... I think it's crazy. Maybe for someone who never took drugs in his life it can be quite revealing/shocking.. but mythical is a bit exagerated.

Not really quite sure what to make of this mushroom. Several times my experience has been revealing/myhtical/enlightening. But only when taken in small quantaties. I had the most amazing experience last year in the forest playing the digeridoo to the rising sun. On the other hand Iv'e had several expereinces where I've taken much too much and reality seemed to drift way too far away.

Lol. that was a long time ago, in my more impressionable days. In retrospect, it taught me alot about moderation. I'm not even sure if they were pure, and there was a whole lot of mixing going on that night.
