hey guys just a quick question, will there be a thread where the lurkers can read about whats happening in your game? cause I surely liked to know :)

Once we are about 20 turns in, we will begin releasing 'Let's Play' tidbits every 10 turns starting with the first 10.

Edit:The OP and 2nd post have more details on who is doing the "Let's Play"s and eventually links to them. Look forward to it. :D

I'm going to have fun with this and see how many cities I can name after Persona characters, starting with #4 and going backwards.
My capital is call, Yu Narukami, of the Britannian Tribe (I blame Code Geass).

I wanted to call it the 'Hetalian' tribe, but the 'Your details' is a locked after the first turn. :(

In other words wait a month and you will be able to see into our game because the way we are going with our slow turns now is making it take forever to get to turn 20 but that's fine... It will eventually happen!

turn taken 3. Thunderbird now

Well... not terrible, just that I could see a bit better just a few steps away. I don't really like being stuck in the middle of a swamp. And sometimes some very small terrain differences can make for a huge difference in the early stage overall - potentially worth a few rounds of effective immediate anarchy.

@Thunderbrd

Was your starting position really bad?

Mine is. Not much you can do with Barren terrain. 3 tiles to feed a city out of 9 until Fishing techs. Didn't want to keep traveling for the 1st 1/2 dozen turns, so took what was best on 2nd turn.

Edit: Attached T-Brds Save game for Praetyre.

Got it! Will push to SVN. Thanks and Hope you're feeling better. :)
Praetyre's Turn Done.
Savegame and updated List Commited to SVN.

Astral,
The save game when you mouse over it will say author:joseph-ii but it's Praetyre's Save game!

I have some hope in the north, I'm scoutin git out... but I placed my starting city on a river/coast/plain... I'm hoping for some fish resource. To my south seems to be barren, rocky and desert.

In the hope, I think I see grassland... and maybe a lush spot. It is the other thing that looked promising. I'll take a better look son as I scout it out.

12padams,

Go For It! Get that turn! Get that turn! Get that Turn! Go Team!

Maybe I'll get a turn in today after all!

JosEPh

12padams turn right now - I have to go out in couple hours, so I'll get mine done before then if 12padams is don soon, otherwise it'll likely be tomorrow.

Lol I'm actually in an ok starting position and I've researched nomadic lifestyle on this turn (turn 4)

It's your turn koshling but I hate taking my turn at this time. It's really an awkward time to do so since I'm rushing off to work. Gtg bye!

everybody should research in nomadic lifestyle as first. slaying animals is priority nr. 1:crazyeye:

I don't know. Getting Native Language civic early on can early help you in the long run.

I tend to get native language, definitely on the higher difficulties since it can offset the initial unhappiness that can happen upon founding a city. (So it became habit, and I'm a Spiritual leader, might as well milk that for all its worth)
I tend to beeline Oral Traditions right after that, then see what my immediate needs are.
Usually opt for for the tech that unlocks the 'Stone Tool Maker', that grants money, production and science.

P.S
Unless its radically changed, I usually try not to play spiritual leaders... but I think the very limited anarchy thing is still there.
