Can you imagine trying to program an AI to have evaluated to the depth we have both done in this standoff so far?

By what I learned so far in the subject of AI, the programing could even be straightforward (not short I'm sure), but it'd be impossible to process it in a few seconds time. It took me several minutes to come with a decision, it feels unfair that we press the AI so hard that it has to decide everything in seconds. But if not, who would play the game right?

I wish to venture into the Combat AI of C2C one day, this war has been the hardest I ever fought in a CIV game, and it inspires with tactics that the AI could do. But I must say Vokarya did pretty well in the poor situation he was back then. I really didn't like that he left the game, he was giving me a hard time, although his defeat was already certain, unless he allied with someone else to eventually share my lands.

Imagine if whisperr and vokarya were still in the game and had allied against me? It would have been a lot harder, if not impossible, to face both of them and still compete with you and Koshling. I believe I'd have survived, and maybe even conquered one of them (most probably Vokarya by Geographic reasons). but then what would I do against both of you? The game would require a lot more diplomacy to handle.

BTW, thank you for this wonderful experience TBrd. I'm sure I'll thank you and the others again later in the game, but I needed to thank you now. I've been telling many people about what has been happening in the game. There are people in college who have been following this for years already. It's like a Soap Opera to them :lol:

Exactly. The intelligence of the AI is often the main thing that causes delay (although some design flaws do play a role.) I have a lot of good plans for the AI and this version has seen some huge steps forward in laying the groundwork for that stuff.

That's awesome! I've mentioned how interesting this clash has been to others. Even trying to get round by round recordings of it won't really do it justice because it's not all what you can see... a lot of it is revealed in the deeper layers of it. All I can say is, its been fascinating.

@Koshling: You are up!

This one will have to wait until tomorrow, unfortunately I should add.

I believe my duties on college shall end this week, as Christmas day is on Monday and my Catholic University will probably suspend any activities during this period. But nothing is sure with my university and professors.

Turn Done, Joseph is up

@Thunderbrd
Nice plan TBrd, but I won't fall for this trap with my SoD. I'm watching you. They'll only get where you'd want them now when they are powerful enough to stand against your size. Just be a little more patient, AstralPhaser's civilization is no more already.

I guess at this point, the question becomes for whom time is more aligned with. I must admit, this is the first time I've been at an impasse with a foe in a long time. I have a feeling this is going to be a long and hard fought war, regardless of who comes out the victor in the end.

On top of that question, another one arises: Considering the Snowball Effect currently favors my Civilization, will you be able to either make a severe technological jump to compensate for your size or find new places to expand? You must have seen what's happening in all important graphs at once right? (GNP, Production, Food, Power)

Let's see how the war will take place. Curiously, you didn't do what I thought you would do this turn. But I couldn't take the risk of losing my SoD anyway. Soon this won't be a problem anymore.
