T-brd next,

Now I have the event "Reefs" appearing and eating ships. Lost another War Galley. This Event "god" just does not want me to invade Hydron! :lol::cry::lol:

Man, there is something really strange about Random Events. While you get events pretty frequently, I think I only got one Random Event since I got the Goths from ls612. And I know the chances of getting an event in early Eras is pretty low (BtS knowledge). Also, the weight of events does not increase the chances of random events ocurring, it just increases the chances of picking the event with more weight over others, but only when an event is set to trigger (once again BtS knowledge).

To make you even sadder Joseph, everytime you get such an event it means you could have got a good one, but the dice rolled against you. This is another reason to hide your ships, because if you decrease the chances of getting this event, you will increase the chances of getting the others (once again I'm not sure if ships outside pre-req tiles do count for the weight or not, but if you have less ships then it surely decreases the weight, and in doing so it increases the chances of getting other events, hopefully good ones).

I'm not saying you should kill your fleet of course, that would be as dumb as AI Elementa (Ex-Vokarya, as I'll try to stop calling this AI Vokarya anymore) did. What I usually do is leaving all my targettable ships inside my cities and forts unless there is some threat I need to adress at sea. The only ships I leave in water are the Outriggers which can't be targetted by these events.

The ship lost was from a group of 3 War galleys chasing down an Illyrian Pirate War galley. Last turn I had destroyed it's partner in crime. 3 Illyrians down 2 to go.

And the Hydrons just built 2 Town Watchmen in the city I have as my 1st target. Unfortunately the city is also on a hill and the 2 archers there are buffed up with city and hill promos. Looks like Pillage the country side till the Rams can get there.

Ungh... the memoirs of a warlord on a shoestring unit budget eh? I could launch that sort of conquest on the AI if I wished but it's just annoying not going in full assed.

I'll be taking my turn later tonight when I can but I'm super happy to see you got your internet up and running and the games are continuing along.

Turn Done, Joseph is up

What a great turn that was. Elemental's SoD of ~60 troops was completely annihilated together with the last commander he had. The other commander I killed last turn because the AI gave it to me with 2 horsemen in reach of several of my troops which could attack and come back to my territory. :D

@Thunderbrd
Which suspicious dealings are you doing/planning to do with whisperr's ex-civilization? I'm watching it. My army is there. :scan:
