On top of that question, another one arises: Considering the Snowball Effect currently favors my Civilization, will you be able to either make a severe technological jump to compensate for your size or find new places to expand? You must have seen what's happening in all important graphs at once right? (GNP, Production, Food, Power)

Let's see how the war will take place. Curiously, you didn't do what I thought you would do this turn. But I couldn't take the risk of losing my SoD anyway. Soon this won't be a problem anymore.
You talk a good game and you play it just as well. At this point, we'll see what the Gods of War have to say about our situation.

You still have yet to pull ahead of me in GNP so I'm not sure what you're trying to point out there except for the obvious inevitable that I do need to break the stalemate before too long or you'll be able to get all those youngling cities to start contributing to the effort. Not that I'm going to be taunted into an attack here. Surely you've realized, as I have, that he who gets aggressive is the one who suffers the first hit and he who suffers the first hit is the one who likely won't recover from it. I suppose if you want me to see the charts between us, you'll have to let down your espionage a bit. ;)

I guess this is just a good old case of the common cold war. As you say: for now.

Koshling->You are up!

Thanks, you also play very well, I don't think I would stand a chance if we had similar sizes by this moment, I'm glad I rushed ls612's civilization to where it stands now. To give more credibility to this, twice I considered you would try a masterful sneaky move to destroy me, and contrary to my immediate plans, I prepared for them.
1st - I watched your sudden burst of power a long time ago. I understood you were preparing for war. So I considered the very unlikely attack from the sea, where you'd come with several ships to disembark on my old borders with AstralPhaser. Gladly this never happened, you attacked the Steiner not me, and I could do what I planned to do: destroy AstralPhaser, and stop you from destroying the Steiner.
2nd - This one I can't say much because you can still do it. It was what I believed you'd have done in your last turn, but you didn't. This explains why I didn't attack you for the last 2 turns. Later I'll explain what I thought here.

You still have yet to pull ahead of me in GNP so I'm not sure what you're trying to point out there except for the obvious inevitable that I do need to break the stalemate before too long or you'll be able to get all those youngling cities to start contributing to the effort.
You're right about GNP, but considering our gap is due to your :gold: income being far superior (not :science:), and seeing that you haven't been able to use it to boost your growth as efficiently as :science:, does it make much difference? What really impresses me is your :science: output with less then half my size. Most of my cities are already 6+ in population, and many are already getting most workable tiles worked. There are still many things I don't know in this game to explain your advantage. I can't say for sure the same about Koshling, but considering he is still considerably ahead of me on the tech tree, he probably benefits from the same features unknown to me.

Not that I'm going to be taunted into an attack here. Surely you've realized, as I have, that he who gets aggressive is the one who suffers the first hit and he who suffers the first hit is the one who likely won't recover from it.
I agree with you, considering what is in place now on the Steiner Pass and its surroundings of course. This won't be like that forever.

I suppose if you want me to see the charts between us, you'll have to let down your espionage a bit. ;)
You claim you can't see my charts? :lol: I won't be fooled by that. You must be able to see my charts. Our gap is proportionally inferior to gaps I have/had with AIs in this game, and I was always able to see their charts. If you really can't see my charts, I'll tell you what I meant: In those 4 graphs (GNP, Production, Food, Power) my value has increased substantially, all at once. I'm not removing something here to boost something there. I'm growing on all aspects together. Koshling sure can see this, so it isn't a secret.

I have been surprised that the charts haven't shown for many turns as well. It wasn't long after you shifted your espionage strategies following the great wonder heist that you disappeared from the charting. However, I can still see from the ranking pages much of what I need to know, extrapolating conclusions from what I can see.

It's not like I don't know that you have an edge in nearly all facets. But there are a few key features the game doesn't give away on the charts.

I'm sure there are a lot more aggressive moves I could take at the moment but I'm sure you can read into the methods in my madness. I'm a patient player. You and I are much like the tortoise and the hare. Or perhaps you are Dragon, as I am Tiger.

Turn Done, Joseph is up

@Thunderbrd
Pretty words up there about animals :lol:, I like to be compared to a Dragon. But I don't think the story will end for me like it ended for the hare.

Well, if it's true that you can't see my charts then the total amount of EPs/turn done really matters on these values. Being the top spying nation by a good margin has given me more benefits then I first realized.

I'm glad you are following my values, I wouldn't expect less from you. I've seen you trying to compensate for your lost units and also for the fact that my army got recently more units then yours.

But I came back.
Even if you do the move I expected you to do, now I can resist it.
And more casualties were done.

Meet Mehmed II Fatih, or Gwanggaeto. If Kukulcan was already a pain, Gwanggaeto will be even more annoying. Talking about him, he has the steal technology promotion. Does it really take that amount of :science: from you? Or does it only increase mine? For each unit killed by him I get 20:science:

Can we please try not to favor one game over another. It's been TB's turn in the conservative game since 2pm on Thursday, in which time he has played twice in other games. I have taken my turn, but I am unhappy about us keeping a faster pace in what should be the relatively slow game (because turns take way longer) than in the quick-to-play games...

Totila is up.

According to the turnlist in the Conservative folder, it appears that Thunderbrd did do his turn, but did not mention it here. When he did it, I have no idea, which is a problem as I am tracking that. I'll be marking that as now.

Look at the SVN log to find that out. Right Click on the Conservative folder in the repository then select>Tortoise SVN->Show Log Last time I committed that game was Thursday 12/28 @ 7:22PM PST.

And Koshling... I'm curious why you didn't consider to at least open the turn tracker. What's the point of having it there if you don't look at them when you update just in case the forum posts went awry somehow? I don't ALWAYS look at them either but if there's an anomoly like what you pointed out about someone seeming to favor a game (which I don't do... I like them all and play each as quickly as I can even if my work hours may not make it seem like it sometimes) maybe take a quick peek at the text file to see if maybe the turn was taken anyhow?

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that.

Still, the basis for my tracking is to see how much lag each player creates for the progress of the game by tracking when each player's turn is announced here as being completed. Yes, sometimes things go awry with a post. Sometimes there just isn't time to post after doing the turn as one has to run off for work or whatever IRL event. Life happens. Still, one should check ASAP to make sure that it did post. As otherwise unnecessary lag between players is created. Especially for those (like me) who rely on the forum being posted on. And apparently, Koshling.

I don't update automatically - I tend to go by the forums here. Anyway, my bad - sorry to appear grumpy ;-)
