Masters of Mana

she wanted the shiny mana crystal RIGHT NOW DAMMIT!! ;)

Can't we just build the city of a thousand slums there later? we've already been VERY lucky in this game, reloading doesn't seem fair :D

for lurkers: each unhealthiness point now gives -2F instead of -1F. so health is actually a concern now :D

1 to NE would have given us the mana RIGHT NOW too AND we could have a built a 2nd city in the area later (where the gobbo fort is now). I hate bad city placement. If you are unsure, take a break and lets discuss here (that goes for any important decision btw).

Reloading is no option. Guess we really have to go for the City of thousand Slums, but its still a great big huge waste.

Guys i cant play tonight... i can play tomorrow, but thats about 24 hours from now. (I could play, but i dont have the time to write) If you want to skip me, go ahead. Sorry, i am really busy with work today.

Victory!

The Sheaim menace met their demise in the raging wilderness of Erebus, and our hunters were quick and lethal: the siege of Galveholm was brief, and the harbingers of apocalypse were no more.

We could now direct our efforts towards the rituals that would allow the Illian to reclaim their place at the top of Erebus. Since we no longer had any urge to fully gain the power of fireshield, we decided to focus on our economy instead.

Councilor NeOmega will be happy to know that we found another ring of regeneration in a skeleton barrow :D

We also begin construction of the Catacomb Libralus in Garduk while our empire grows, and we use some of our stone stockpiles to hurry construction of some harbours, to fuel our economy and consolidate our conquest.

It pays off very quickly as our coffers begin to refill again, King Braeden will be pleased. We also begin construction of an explorer, to meet the other survivors of the Age of Ice.

Civ4ScreenShot0002-1.jpg

And we gift a captured pride of lions to Garduk to improve its carnival :goodjob:

Civ4ScreenShot0003-1.jpg

So now we're faced with this choice: what arcane power do we want to master in the coming years?

I'll pass the save to the next player to cannibalize the rest of Gromblmompf's turnset :mischief:

For now arcane research is set on snowfall, seem fitting ;)

Other than Snowfall, Earth Lore and Unholy Addiction are good at that moment, they allow to farm barb camps faster. And Earth Lore may be researched instantly.

Plaing my 20 turns now, but might take a little while before i post the report.

Looked at the save... WHO GARRISONED HUNTERS IN OUR CITIES? There is even a lvl 4 Hunter with Ambush discipline garrisoned in our capital. And a garrisoned Lizard and a Lion in other cities too.

Our hunter hero is nowhere to be found. :-(

Sorry, cant wite much this time, busy with job and now the wife is mad at me too for wifeish reasons :crazyeye:.

Not much happened in my 20 turns either... i cleared out a lot of lairs and got 3 or 4 spellresearch boosts, so we are quite close to finishing Snowfall. I tried to win as many battles as possible with our Frost Maidens for the +20 Faith increase and managed to cast The White Hand, so we now have 3 White Priests under our command. :-) Finished Priesthood (obviously) and Sailing and Code of Laws, now going for Drama (who knows, Bone Palace might still be buildable).

I MIGHT be able to write the story tomorrow.

Well with Gekko being....not here and the general motivation down due to bad city placement and garisoned hunters, updates are kinda rare.
I think i will play some turns later today.

Nawh, you guys were doing great. Just pretend that those mistakes were fate-designed handicap, thrown to balance the game. It is AI vs 5 people, after all

They were certainly doing better than i am in my latest game. Just built my second city, defended by my local legend. The bastard retires and the very next turn a rabid pack of wolves razes the city.
