Some cold war artillery:

:)

I think I already asked you, but I cannot remember when or find this post, so I just ask again: Do you think there is a chance to release one of few of this artilleries in near future? I am in a need for a cold war artillery the is similar to the Civ2-howitzer.

Please do not mind my previous post, I have found your last answer.
I hope your mod is doing progress, there are so many beautiful units in it.

Thanks! I have been absent from modding for a while due to the fact I had to take a break and get my inspiration going again. According to Steam, my hours in Civ 4 are currently 4 886 since I installed it in 2015, and of those I might actually have played the game ca 3-4 , rest is modding. Those 4 886 hours don't count the time I haven't had the mod loaded in the background. I have been working constantly on making naval units in the last year. This is the U.S Navy of Steam- and pre dreadnought era (scale might be a bit off in the preview):

I am currently adding units of the WW1-era, like dreadnoughts, super dreadnoughts etc.

Just in case - this thing is called M115. At the same time, there is a model on the Internet. But it doesn't seem urgent to you, as far as I understand.

It is not very urgent for me, that is correct (and I also do not need exactly the M115, it also might be another cold war howitzer which is form this time, maybe "Long Tom" - but yes, M115 ist best). But if there is a useable, maybe already animated model, I would be glad to use it right now (and maybe later replace it).

https://www.3dcadbrowser.com/3d-model/howitzer-203-mm the simplest model. But this site has a fancy free download system. With a free account, you can freely download only one model. Then the restrictions begin.
«Using a free account you can download all free 3D models. To download non-free 3D models you need to upload your 3D models or order a paid account. You'll be able to download one 3D model per each download of your uploaded 3D model by other user».
At the same time, they have only one artillery model marked free.
In general, it makes sense to look – maybe something here https://www.3dcadbrowser.com/3dmodels.aspx?category=65&page=1
you will need more, and there will be no alternative. And will have to make additional efforts to plunder the site.

There is one for the M115, alternative is doubtful.
Clearly problematic mid-polygonal models lie in many places.

If you need a separate "Long Volume", then it is also quite popular. For example
https://open3dmodel.com/ru/3d-models/3d-model-155-mm-gun-m1-field-artillery_124999.html

In general, there is not much post-war artillery, but there is. At the same time, I came across the second generation – that is, with an auxiliary engine, automation and an increased firing range. There the main question is the limit of polygonality/ "weight". The question is key, because...
I have in my computer, for example, a model of a modern Russian howitzer – MSTA-B (not a self-propelled gun, but a towed one). But it is large even in a zip file, 2.82 MB. And there are a lot of such things.
But this is for a possible future, of course.

Thank you for the links, but I am afraid, I cannot use them. I do not know, how to convert, paint, etc. a modell. "Usable" for me meant, that it is already a .nif file. So I will have to wait for MatteM.
Thanks for your effords.

Thanks for your effords.
Well... I didn't strain myself too much:lol: In my family, they always liked to kill with impunity from a safe distance and in the back, so they served in the cavalry and artillery for a long time.Until the rockets appeared  I love cannons

Well I am back to modding, been moving to a house during the fall and getting all kinds of illnesses due to my daughter starting preschool and bringing home all kinds of
virus and bacteria

I need to really focus to get things done before I grow old!

I had a question, does anyone know if the old mod Events with Images | CivFanatics Forums, ever got updated to incorporate larger images? Or if any large mod
did a modernized version? I play on 1920x1080 and the tiny images it is made for seem a bit puny, I like historical scenarios and this would make for a nice
component.

Oh and happy new year btw!

I know that FFH and it's various submods have images for events. And I've seen it in other mods as well. And they are not tiny and I play in the same resolution.

Well I am back to modding,

That is good to hear.
I am curious, which units you will release next, and when all the things are available (even if it is much too moch for me to use it all).

I which every still active modder for Civ4 great success for the new year, and everyone here, if active or retired, a good new year 2022.
