FV 432 APC

MatteM's unit modeling and retexturing workshop 2018-11-05

Hi, MatteM:

I was wondering if your B1 Centauro was available anywhere (Pictured on page 6)? There used to be a model available in the downloads section, but it has been giving an error for some time now.

There is a model in VD.

I could have sworn it was there. Apparently not though. My bad.

Yes, I agree, the skin is much better for this Bandvagn, but it is missing the second part now. On every photo I saw, this units consist on two parts (in facts, as I leadned from Wikipedia, this is an integral part of the vehicle), like your first model. So if this could be added, it would be great. I am not in a hurry, so if you think you can find some time, but later, it is no problem. I just wanted to point out that I will be very interested in using this unit.

Ok, yeah the problem was that the original model probably was from Sketchup, and very difficult to work with, but I´ll look and see if I still have it around and post it here, not really qualitywise something I want to put to market though :D

Been editing some of the old ships done by the legends of Civfanatics:

In case anyone is wondering, I am still working on the mod and units, I just have less time now as I am on parental leave with a one year old, and she doesn't leave me alone when in front of the computer, she wants to smash all buttons on the keyboard and stuff lol. I am currently working on torpedo boat destroyers, and have soon finished most pre- dreadnought stuff that I have found workable models of. I will post some previews eventually.

Do you guys have psd templates for the cold war infantry?
I'm trying to make an alternate history mod

Hello! Do you mean a texture- template? I am afraid not, there are a couple of units that can be used, mostly using the marine-animation, but you would have to start painting from scratch, camoflauge patterns can easily be found
thankfully.

I do have a question, in one of the preview images you (for the US) you showed the LAV-25 - is that a working model?

Yes, I was supposed to check the .nif in game because the effects were off or something, haven't had time unfortunately, would you mind check in game and get back to me? I´ll post it if it works ok, it uses
the standard mech infantry animation.

Looks great in game - I'd also include a deeper green so it can double as a Canadian LAV-III - at the scale of Civ IV the LAV-III and LAV-25 aren't different enough to produce noticeable discrepencies

I did a paddle driven steam and sail model a while ago for both the frigate and galleon. You can find them in my Navy module.

Also the KFM is such that you can just attach any old frigate hull to it and it should work provided you copy over the extra bits. So just adding a SOTL instead of a frigate should not be too hard.

Turning it from paddle to screw should also be fairly easy, just delete the large paddles on the side.

Made a Boxer GTK, actually turned out fine, removed the wheels from the Sketchup model, as wheels are ridiculously high poly most often and instead used KrugerPritz Rooikat wheels, now the nif is 430kb, still too much for Walters preference but I might just post it if anyone is interested cause its still a cool looking APC.
