Hey Guys, another thread in God and Kings: This time about the Mayan City List.
Now in Civ 4 some cities were omitted and some cities hadnt been discovered (BTS came out in 2007). I hope the developers don't just copy and past the cities from Civ 4 into Civ 5. I have a few suggestions for Mayan Cities to be included this time around. If anyone else has any other important suggestions, feel welcome to add on.
The following are cities in Civ 4 (Gotten via Civ Wikia):
(Below the following list I included 3 cities that I would like to see in Civ 5)
============

==========
Now a lot of these cities are important, but recently (since BTS came out) there have been the discovery of some major cities and power and population of some cities have been re-estimated.
Perhaps I am being a bit nitpicky, but I would like to see a couple of these cities added to the Maya City List. There are also a few cities that were snubbed that were and are pretty major.
Anyways here are 3:
Anyways first off:
El Mirador - Very recent find in the Mirador Basin (Considered the birthplace of Maya Civilization). This city existed from estimates of 700 B.C. to 100 A.D. but was possibly the most populated city of its time with only Tikal ever beating its population. Estimates range from 80,000 upwards, it contains the largest pyramid EVER constructed (Volume wise called La Dhanta and is bigger than any of the Pyramids of Giza), and a stone copy of the Popol Vuh (The equivalent of the Mayan Bible). The City's radius is larger than that of Los Angeles. It is arguably one of the top 5 most important cities in the Mayan World and one of the most important finds in half a century.
Copán - A major city of 20,000 people from 400-800 A.D. Its vassal Quirigua is in game but it isnt and for a long time it was a more major city with better trade, etc.
Iximché - The capital of the Kaqchikel and the major rivals of the Quiché. A fairly large city. The Kaqchikel are responsible for the name of Guatemala, a noble man from this city was suspected to have written down the Kaqchikel Annals from this city, etc.
