Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

That suck's!! I once tryed to make a mod about Anciant Chaina. But just as about 70% was done, my comuter crashed and I lost everything.
It's a @ss of a experiance!!!

And what do we learn from this? Make external backups!

That's why this feature called "saving" was invented. I've found it best to save every ten minutes or after doing a big chunk of work. ;)

Hell, sometimes I'll even save every minute out of paranoia...and indeed, my computer does just shutdown sometimes (I need a new cooling fan).

I have just put win rar archive in C/infogrammes....scenarios, But when I tried to start to overwrite the patc, it didnt want to overwrite. just ask me to replace the firts download???? Please help me. Also I dont have a new scenarios in civ content, after the download of the MEM

I moved by myself the icon with the MEM i scenarios, and now I have it in civ-content, but when I start the map, it gave to me : missing file pediaicons/ English Kingdom......

The files you downloaded have to be under the "Civilization 3/Conquest/Scenarios", not in civ-content (wherever that is). And you need to download the entire mood not only the scenarios. They won't work without the files from the mod.

The scenario won't run if you move the MEM "icon" by yourself. It requires all the other folders and files inside the archive.

Just do what the installation instructions do, it cannot be explained any better. Unpack the 1.0 file to ...Scenarios, then do the same with 1.1 patch. Do you actually have / know how to use WinZip or WinRAR etc.?

No:))) I have install the first file right:::) after that I install the second but the compute wanted to replace the first and not to overwrite, and I have installed the patch separately. After that I placed the patch to the MEM. how to use Winrar?

Replace = overwrite. The patch only replaces the obsolete files.

Otherwise I can only repeat what ED already said. If you gets an error then you did not follow the instructions.

Inside the rar/zip there are one folder and one biq file. Put both of these into your scenarios folder. Then put the same folder and biq from the patch into the scenario folder. If it asks you to overwrite then just press "yes". Don't do anything else.

sorry. But in the firts time when I replaced the files, after that the computer showed me, that the size of the replaced file is 15 Mb, which is exactly the size of the patch??? And the first file is 263 Mb

when I replaced the files, after that existed only the 14,8 Mb update file. Before that I have succeeded to start the first Medieval European Mod but when I replaced the files it crashed. Probably I have to put separetly the files and after that to remove the big files and the biq files into the scenarios folder.

No, you don't have to do anything like that. You just have to follow the instructions on the first page, it takes about 5 seconds.

If you have problems understanding how compressed files work, here's the deal. The files that you downloaded are packed archives, that is, they contain thousands of the mod files inside. THEY HAVE TO UNPACKED. I don't know what compression software are you using, but whatever it is, you should be able to click on a downloaded file and see various files and folders inside. First open the big file you downloaded and try to drag and drop all of its contents into your Scenario folder. Then do the same with the second file, and answer "Yes" when it asks you if it should overwrite/replace old files.

As a result, inside your scenarios folder you should have "MEM" folder and three other MEM files. If you don't, I really give up.

I would once more like to heap praise on embryodead and Yoda Power for this great mod! This will extend my interest in C3C for many, many months!
Thanks for all the hard, painstakingly detailed work!

Some things I noticed: The pikeman and eastern pikeman do not require iron, is this on purpose? Mailed and heavy spearman do, as does the halberdier.
Also, shouldn´t assasins be not able to pillage? They aren´t huge groups of soldiers or am I wrong? How is it supposed one assasin can pillage so much land in so little time? It´s annoying too when AI destroys my improvements with invincible troops and I´m european.. They are quite powerful without pillaging ability, after all they can scout enemy areas and sneak attack.
Sewers does not remove building pollution, like said in civilopedia.

Then some suggestions. First of all, I don´t know much about historical accuracy so feel free to comment!
Forge and smithy could grant +25% production bonus and be more expensive than stable?
How about monasteries not costing mainteinance? Weren´t they independent "communities" after all, not government supported?
Maybe lithuanian shrine should only give 1 culture per turn, they still get culture from sacrificing and that´s pretty much early on.
New buildings/units???
-Watermill, giving +25% to production? And buildable only within rivers.
-boiling tar unit? immobile, requires tar and acts like a cruise missile with range of 1? Or has nothing but defensive bombardment? This way it would be more realistic and they could be cheaper. Maybe have it require castle building or autoproduced by castle? Used when defending under siege.
New citizens?
-slave trader for almohads only, giving production and money bonus
-inquisitor, giving -corruption and maybe production?
-???
What do you think?

Update: I'm still playing (on-and-off) the game where I'm the Byzantines. Somehow a world war began, and next thing I know, I'm at war with nearly every other civ! I easily defned myself for a long time, but I can't seem to get out of the wars. I had a really good alliance with France and Burgundy for quite a while, but they turned on me. Note: I am at war with the Berbers/Almoravids, Tatars, Muscovy, Lithuania, Scotland, Ireland, Aragon, Portugal, HRE, Bohemia and Sweden. The only alliance I have left is with Hungary, and they are annoyed with me.
I control Italy, the Balkans, much of the Black sea, most of the Middle East (cep't Persia, which is still Seljuk), all former Fatimid territories, all mediteranean islands, and the southern most Burgundian city.
