Medieval European Mod II 2016-10-05

About Strelets (Muscovy). I'm not pleased with its parameters 6/5/1 +hp. While you defend city computer firstly will attack the unit with the max value of (defence parameter*hp). It is a strelets (I don't remember what about other nations), not a halbedier, you see. So you have less chance of attacking enemy during your term from your city while you are defending.

That was intended, I mean, from what I understood Streltsy were primarily defensive troops stationed in main Muscovite cities.

I'm doing a map for MEM about the Russian History
I need some help then
i made a part of the map, but i'm going out in vacation soon, someone who could help me with the units, graphics and civlopedia?

where you going in vacation? Russia lol joke mate :)
well its nice to hear that you creating a map

Thanks for this great mod and the scenarios too!

I have a question about the mod.If an enemy unit attacks one of my cities, and my defending unit loses e.g 2 hit points, when my turn comes its hit points are full again.
This happens only in cities, from the beginning of the game (no barracks etc) but even if there were such improvements, the hit points should be refilled in a round later and not immediately.
As i saw in civilopedia no rules about unit healing are changed and i didn't find anything relative in this thread too, which makes me wonder if this happens only to me.
Anyway, maybe my first post is just a stupid question :)

The HPs are refilled "a round later" - you are player #1, so your turn = new turn. I haven't played Civ3 for a long time so I don't remember how many HPs you are supposed to regain in a city without barracks, but at least I'm sure this wasn't changed in this mod, especially since rules like these cannot even be changed (there are a few more barracks-like buildings, e.g. smithy/stable, that's all).

Normally they gain 1hp per turn. In my case if a veteran spearman with 4/4hp defends and is left with 1/4,in the next turn he has 4/4 again. In cities with no barracks or any other improvement.
I thought too that these rules can't be changed because i didn't find anything similar in the editor. So it's a bit strange that it happens only at me :D
Thank you for the reply.

IIRC, one of the features of the "Cheating AI" (i.e. built-in bonuses the AI only gets) for Civ III is that any AI unit garrisoned in a CITY will fully heal in one turn, regardless of whether they have a barracks or not... At least that seems to be the way it works in the thousands upon thousands of play test games I've done...

I had a error while loading one of the maps for the game. It couldnt load up Kingdom of England or something.

With such a vague report I won't be able to help. Assuming you have all the latest files, those errors generally mean you have not installed the mod properly, as per instructions in the first post.

Macintosh detected. As far as I understand some people managed to run this mod on Mac, but I'm not likely to be able to help, unless it was just installation problem. To explain it: "Kingdom of England" is not missing, the message means that Civ3 simply cannot locate the mod's files. On PC they should be in (...)/Conquests/Scenarios/ but with Mac version you never know. If the files are not precisely in that location, or are not unzipped properly etc. Civ3 crashes like that.

The file that cannot be found should be located precisely in Conquests/Scenarios/MEM/Text/PediaIcons.txt
("Conquests" being the folder containing Conquests.exe or whatever is used to launch the game on Mac)

You betcha. :)

On the Mac the initial path would be Conquests Game Data/Scenarios. Which means I get to move the files again. (Like I didn't have enough to do. :D )

i guess you are right about that : The Macintosh is a cruel machine, for it is very intolerant of error.

we need more of :science::hammers::gold: to create a better Mac Version

The old MacSoft version of CivIII worked just like the Windows version. Why the people at Aspyr Media had to do it the right way (Mac) instead of the right way (Civ III) is beyond me.

And then they made it just about impossible for Mac users to mod. That is so control freak it's not even funny.

We're it within my power, my people would take the Windows version of Civ III and do a straight port to the Mac; being sure to include the material MacSoft decided to exclude (and which, apparently, got them in so much trouble with Firaxis). Civ III for the Mac by Mythusmage LLC (only a sample company name). would look for files just like the Windows version, even though it's the wrong way for Macs to do it.

Of course, my problems could be due to the fact my hard drive needs to be de-fragged and other such things. We'll see how it goes.

It didn't work. Moving the scenario into Conquests Game Data/Conquests that is.

So I checked out the PediaIcon and found, it's the wrong PediaIcon. Attached below the PediaIcon I found in my MEM directory. Haven't read all of it, but it does have a bunch of stuff I rather doubt ever shows up in MEM.

I will be downloading a new copy of the MOD and we'll see how that goes.

My guess was right. I downloaded a new copy of 1.0 and 1.3, installed them, and started playing. Got up to war with Scotland before retiring with no troubles.

Some how I got the wrong PediaIcon.txt, so when I install the optional packages I'll be making copies of the original (1.3) version to see how things go. Will report on the results.
