Middle East thread

Read enough already about the behaviour of hiding the civilians wearing civilian clothing whilst carrying an assault rifle or an RPG. Nothing new.
Anyway why were they in a civilian building in the first place? Title is all I need for this Hamas/Hezbollah wash pieces! Even Russians avoid this kind of behaviour and try somewhat to avoid russian civilian casualties!
So you freely admit to not reading the article, and also seemingly do not actually understand the situation occurring. Why are you posting in this thread, exactly? [snip] Moderator Action: Edited by Birdjaguar

I'm not saying this to be flip: you very genuinely do not seem to know what Hezbollah is, or what like... workers do. Do you think an IT guy for the US Army lives in a big scary bunker with a bunch of soldiers?

Please enlighten me on what Hezbollah is and thank you for your insight on that subject 😊

Hezbollah is a political party. Yes, it has a militant wing. However, not everyone involved in the party is a soldier, and not everyone in the military is a combatant. These are very, very simple facts that are very easily learned if you stop fantasizing about all Muslims being murderers, but you've made it clear you have no interest in thinking otherwise or learning these basic facts.

Except nothing of the sort happened here. Which you would know if you had read the article.

Maybe I should I post it again with Russia replacing Israel and Ukraine replacing Lebanon?

A political party with armed goons. How peaceful! Hezbollah are terrorist scum based on a theocratic junta that represses human rights and basic freedoms. Let's not even go on what they think of homosexuals and so on! How can you or anyone dare to shield terrorists from criticism is beyond my understanding...but I just might be too stupid to understand, and that's fine by me.:crazyeye:

As far as I know, it is still Hezbollah's manifesto to bring about the destruction of the state of Israel.

You don't get to play the victim, when you're intended and proclaimed target, then attempts to destroy you too.

Have you read it?

We could only find evidence that six of the 68 dead we identified were connected to Hezbollah's military wing.

Hezbollah memorial photos for the six men use the label "Mujahid", meaning "fighter". Senior figures, by contrast, are referred to as "Qaid", meaning "commander" - and we found no such labels used by the group to describe those killed.

Those six were confirmed to be combatants by Hezbollah.

So yeah, it's confirmed that those were combatants hiding among civilians. This kind of evasion

is simply a fallacy. Besides, Hezbollah is a terrorist party first, and everyone in its hierarchy is a valid target, just like Russian government officials and collaborators in occupied Ukraine are valid targets. Plenty of those ended up in pieces within last three years.

Dude:deadhorse:
I read the article diagonally, ok! Get of my case please and thank you! Is your urge to silence dissenting voices so itchy?

They were not confirmed to be combatants, only that they were members of Hezbollah's military force. One of them was a reservist who was not even on active duty.

That's not the point. The point is that Israel claimed to have struck a secret command centre, claimed that the overwhelming majority of casualties were combatants, and claimed to have killed a senior commander. All three of these claims were blatantly false. But the people who are dead are dead. And thousands more will die likewise. And we will still have people cheering the killers on

I cheer for no one in that mess, not for the terrorists Hamas/Hezbollah and not for the IDF in terminator mode!

is a meaningless statement. The word "terrorist" can be applied to anyone. All states are terrorist. All authority is terrorist. Going by the definition of the term, USA, Russia, Israel and Ukraine are the world's foremost terrorists. Each one of them uses terrorist tactics against non-combatants and civilian populations. Each one of them uses terror as a means to achieve their objectives.

All states are terrorist
Surely you jest and/or exaggerate. I don't live in a terrorist state and doubt you do as well.
All authority is terrorist.
!?
You prefer law of the jungle!?

Why put Ukraine in this basket!? Please give me examples of Ukraine's terrorists activities...and let's not forget they are fighting for their very existence as a people, nation and culture! Thank you!

Many things can be justified with this line. Ukraine are fighting against an illegal invasion, but that doesn't justify anything they might have done wrong.

Aren't countries in the Middle East fighting for the same?

You can criticise their culture, laws, whatever you please. But if rationale can't be applied consistently (contextually), then it isn't worth much except "we can do X and they can't".

what exactly makes people think Hizbullah is not fighting for the very existence of their own people ?

Erasing the Jew nation out of the face of the Earth!? Is that the good fight!?
Are the people born long after the mess that put the Jew state in that place to blame for it as well!?
I haven't seen Jews proud of having their family and offspring becoming martyrs and there are many wrongs regarding their actions but at the very least they don't behave on a civilian level like a death cult!

Tribalism. Israel is considered as part of "Western world", while Lebanon and Shia Muslims aren't.

I simply do not believe any ethnostate should exist. Israel is a nation built on colonial violence and continuing colonial violence, even moreso than other nations. No nation has a "right" to exist, and certainly no right to devote themselves to genocide and the slaughter of civilians.

Would you walk up to a random person on the street and say "I celebrate the state-sanctioned murders of 60 people living in their apartment complex"? Because it's certainly what you're doing on this video game forum. You're presumably in your 40s or 50s - I would presume you'd have matured at some point to not have a child's view of the world.

So here's for more 7 October, that it!!

No, never. I don't celebrate death.

Would you celebrate the massacre of civilians attending a music festival? Some survivors had to hide under dead bodies to escape the zealous Hamas fanatics, did you know that?... Learned about that and more on a documentary on TV the other day, very enlightening about the value Hamas/Hezbollah members place on human life.
I would presume you'd have matured at some point to not have a child's view of the world.
You presumed wrong:)
