How Doctrines Work

* Units automatically receive strength promotions based upon their XP gained. Regulars, Veterans, Season Veterans, Battle-Hardened Veterans and Elite.

* There is now a completely new doctrines panel with six doctrine trees Infantry, Recon, Cavalry, Ranged, Naval and Air.

* Each unit class is split into those categories. XP gained from combat with that...

I like the idea but this mod conflicts with Quo's Combined Tweaks. I don't want go back to vanilla game rules ;)
Can't start new game, player is redirected back to main civ menu.

Hey Puer I added in compatibility with things that change the promotion data, which should include that mod (I had vanilla promotions deleted originally but it's not needed now). Thanks for the database log! Let me know if you still see problems.

I installed the mod and started a new game- there is a problem to get inside the tree of science and the rest of all trees abov..it got me stuck when I wanted to choose a special people I earned
plz fix it. it looks cool Although...
second problem when I want to premote a unit - log option of choosing it - is very Messy :/ - u cant see what u want to choose
 
What screen resolution were you using? so I can try and fix I'm thinking thats the problem if your UI is looking wierd
 
Looks very interesting and I'm thinking about giving it a try for the next game. Any known compatibility issues with other than Quo's Combined Tweaks, e.g with CQUI?

@Golan v Ya the max that I tested and that I use is 1920x1080. I'll get back to my computer Monday I don't remember if it can reach that resolution lol. If not then I might ask for some screenshots of the mess that it looks like maybe I can work from that.

@skodkim it should not have any problems with Quo's Combined Tweaks, the UI in the top-left will have problems with CQUI. Its possible this mod will work with CQUI if in a load order that loads my launchbar and not theirs. If you want to wait I will make it compatible with CQUI soon. If you really wanted you could also go in and disable/delete launchbar.lua and launchbar.xml in the CQUI mod since this will be the compatibility problem.
 
I'm going to wait a bit before I start a new game and if a CQUI compatible version will be available by then I'll try it out. As said, it looks really interesting! The promotion system definitely needs some love!

Rebalance and *testing* CQUI Compadibility

- Rebalanced most of the doctrine tree

- It takes more XP to gain doctrines

- AI will now gain XP at a much slower rate

- Veterency Promotions get much more expensive after earning each one

- Removed Civilians getting some of the doctrines (bug fix)

- Compadibility with CQUI *testing this*, it is very important to know that in order for the load order to work you must subscribe to this mod last. If you don't then doctrines won't work. You can also save the game at turn 0 and load it...

@Golan v Hey, ya I can't get my monitor to that size unfortunately :/ . So if you would like you can take screenshots, maybe I can work from there to fix it but no guarantees.

And I have the CQUI mod compatible now (in my auto-tests). For now I combined the code in the imported LaunchBar. I recommend of course the CQUI mod anyways which I'm sure everyone uses already :lol: though you don't *need* it of course.

My PC - (if u wanna know) i7 6850 (OC), asus x99 ii, gtx 1080 water cooling,32 GB ram, ssd all over, and a screen that support 4k from Samsung :)

hope u will succeed to fix it from pic :)

Ok it isn't the resolution, for some reason it is giving you a free promotion which it shouldn't be as the promotion screen shouldn't be accessible. You don't get free promotions from advanced starts unless I'm missing something, I don't think I asked before but what mods are you using if any? The Launchbar.lua is also getting an error.
 
Yeah maby its the purtogal civ did sumthing..
And in all of the game start in information area you get a free promotion BTW..
I will play it again with the last update and let u know
 
I'm running 2160 X 1080 ultrawide screen and the unit promotion menu runs off to the side.

Added UI to work with veterancy, got rid of promotion action since this mod doesn't use

- Added UI to work with veterancy you can now see how much XP is need until reaching the next veterancy like regulars or elite.

- Promotion action is hidden as this mod will automatically promote your units. And you can choose promotions in the doctrines launch bar in the top left. This will hopefully help solve the problems involved with other mods that give a free promotion.

- Added MIT license info that goes with the CQUI code

- CQUI is added to the UnitPanel also
