Minor Suggestions Thread

I think that Buddhism's tech shoul'd be changed, Buddhism is founded in -2000 BC or something when it shoul'd be in -530, after Judaism, Taoism and Cunfuciansim. I think that if you change Buddhism's tech back to Meditation and add it after priesthood it will be much better. Hinduism will return to Polytheism.

I think there should be some independent Chinese cities earlier in the game to represent the different dynasties.

If it doesnt slow down the game much then I think there should be more minor civilisations early in the game such as nubia and illyria

Allow russian cities to expand with less culture to help them control siberia...also should have a chance of reaching alaska.

Implement the MAD nukes mod

Change the tech tree so that you can only see the techs that you can research next instead of the whole tree

Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka

Human player should be able to offer to declare war on another civs enemy

The ability to buy battleships off other civs after merceneries become unavailable.

Inverness shouldn't automatically flip to England.

Carthage should be more likely to expand into Spain and face conflict with Rome and there should be more rapid roman expansion in general

Mongolia shouldn't suffer stability if it takes over Japan

Can we get ancient wonders built, or at least unbuildable, in the 600 AD start? It bugs me when India builds the Oracle, Great Wall, Parthenon, etc. We already have the Great Library built in Alexandria so why not the Greek Wonders in Athen s and the Great Wall in China?

I thought one of the patches fixed that.
I still have the release version of BTS so I can't say for sure, though. Do you have up to date version?

As we can have tiles that both land units and water units can enter (e.g. castles), why not have a 'straits' type terrain? to attach certain landmasses? e.g. Spain to North Africa and/or Denmark to Scandanavia.

Is the any way to try to sort out the tech rate for the east asian civs? i.e. get them to reach the middle ages quickly then slow right down with the techs untill they reach contact with the euro's?

Finaly, is the any way to get spain to reach america and get the conquerors event first more often?

Also I would like to see reduced effects for instability as it is hard to judge and I think hits the player a little too hard.
At low stability when a civ breaks away from an empire it could start out as a vassal to the empire it broke away from.
If a civ breaks away from a human players empire the could be a pop up asking whether to grant them full autonomy (not a vassal, and at peace, huge diplo bonus), limited autonomy (vassal state) or declare war.

Secondly for the civil war, if it is the human player who goes into civil war how about spliting the empire into 2 halves with the human player controlling one half and a single independant civ gaining the full second half?
This would make reconquoring your empire not only possible but also quite fun? Also for a very large empire it could be split into 3 blocks as the are two independant civs.

Can we have default names for plots? like when France will found a city in the Philipines it woul'd still have a name.

And another thing. I think that if the Capital of a civ is captured and then recaptured by that civ the Capital should move back to the city, Example: Spain captures Tenochtitlan, than Aztecs capture it back the capital would return as "Ciudad de Mexico".

I agree with this, seeing the default city names is rather annoying.

Also, Arguin should be added as a German city anyway, as Brandenburg had a colony there at one point (can't remember when).

I like that idea. Mainly because for some reason I don't like seeing Constantinople acting as a canal.

BTW, why is Constanstinople often razed and doesn't get rebuilt? It is kinda annoying, it is an interesting strategical location, after all...

I agree and disagree with you, for the aztec situation i agree with u. But if like Turkey takes constantinople and makes it istanbul and some1 like rome recaptures it, it should revert back to constant lol

One minor suggestion i already made: please make a tile in the Cape region an ocean, so someone from Asia isn't able to reach Europe with a trimeri :)

Then how is Islam supposed to spread to Mali? :)
Maybe make the tile next to the Cape of Good Hope an ocean tile after 1400 when settlers from Europe will be trying to cross the cape.
Then there's the premature Suez Canal (built in 300 AD usually when I play as Carthage)...:)

I know this will probably be useless, but it's a nice touch:

When the Greeks found Lisbon, it should be called "Ulisipo".
