I did some Google seraching and came accross the 10.01 figure for Swededn again, always citing the Interpol as reference. However, all websites with that figure appear to be dedicated to bashing muslims, so they're most likely false.
I also read that Interpol includes attempted murders in the homicide rates of some countries, what doesn't make much sense and may explain weird findings (if true).
There's basically no good international crime statistic comparisons because of different methodologies. Some countries count manslaughter (and define manslaughter differently), some exclude vehicular manslaughters, some include or exclude attempted murder, some count all crime reports, others only count documented convictions, and so forth. The US barely even collects statistics at a federal level... basically the FBI just compiles state and county records. My
guess is Sweden probably has a more all-encompassing definition of murder than the United States.
Oh and on the topic: Sydney is still majority anglo but there's different areas with a lot of folk from different parts of the world. About 40% were born overseas, and about 64% speak English at home. There's no community which dominates the city as a whole, just neighbourhoods associated with various groups, Wikipedia has a pretty good list though it leaves out all the Americans and Brits in Coogee and the New Zealanders in the eastern suburbs:
* Italians with Leichhardt
* Greeks with Earlwood
* Lebanese with Lakemba, Campsie, Merrylands and Bankstown. Sydney has around 75% of Australia's Lebanese population.
* Macedonians with Rockdale, Kogarah
* Filipino with Blacktown
* Koreans with Strathfield, Campsie, and Eastwood
* Jews with Bondi, Rose Bay and St Ives
* Indians with Westmead, Parramatta, Glenwood, Kellyville, Harris Park and Blacktown.
* Chinese with Haymarket, Cabramatta, Ashfield, Hurstville, Campsie, Chatswood, Eastwood.
* Vietnamese with Cabramatta and Bankstown
* Indigenous Australians with Redfern
* Assyrians with City of Fairfield.
Where I live it just seems to be a generic mixture, the suburb is too bland to have any particular flavour.
