MLDR005 NOW what?

OK, Meldor can pick up the save. I will wait till later to play my turns. Actually with Meldor, Microbe and ChrTh, and probably NP up again before me, there might not be much left for me to burn.
@ChrTh, careful with a torn tricep, they are very nasty. For your sake take your time on the recovery, and be careful. Hope you heal well.

Northern Pike: hasn't posted for a while

I haven't gone anywhere. :) I just haven't spoken up in this discussion of who should go next because I'm still the second-last to play.

Meldor, good to have you back.

ChrTh, sorry to hear about your injury. BTW, you definitely win the "What age is that guy anyway?" award--in one post you're talking about homework, in the next about selling your house. :D

It's all consistent ... I'm 30, working on my MBA :D

BTW, it's not a torn triceps, just a bruised one (it appears, because medicine helps). The elbow hurts because it had to pick up the slack for the tricep (my body always does this--I injure something else compensating for another injury). I've stopped doing any exercising until at least Saturday just to make sure, but unless something else goes wrong, I'll definitely be ready on Thursday.

i'm still around.

waited for ChrTh on saturday, didn't want to rush him after swapping.

Didn't you see my update on Saturday morning? (well, morning my time)

Is anyone else having issues receiving email updates when a new post is added to the thread?

Ah, so you get the chores of youth and those of middle age. Fair enough.

Hey meldor, welcome back! Feeling better?
I am at least at 85%. Having looked at the game, it will be a slow plodding thrash without combat settlers so I can handle it in my reduced capacity. Of course, the reduced capacity may just be to old age...

Glad to hear your injury isn't as bad as you had first thought. Have to have a good set of arms for hugging the children and picking them up!!!

@ChrTh: hopefully you'll come back from IR list soon. must have missed your post.

@team: sorry for that. looking forward to my final turnset in this game.

I'm feeling mostly healed today, I could probably play tonight ... if I didn't have class (doh!). But I will be available tomorrow night and all weekend to play.

Is this game merging in your mind with MLDR06? ;) We can use combat settlers in this one. Or if you just mean that we lack settlers right now, that can be corrected quickly.

Yes--Ainwood in the Space-3 thread reports the same thing.

It was the lack of them on hand as reported in the last turn log about 5 pages back...

BTW, I don't use email updates and the popup for the PM messages doesn't work for me either (and yes, I let Norton and Windows know it is OK for this site to do a popup).

We have three settler and are only building two. A swap some cities to settlers. Plant a spy and check things out. They have: 13 workers, 2 Infantry, 12 Tanks, 106 Mech Infantry, 3 Artillery, 1 Cruise Missle, 1 Galley, 9 Frigates, 1 Galleon, 6 Transports, 4 Carriers, 1 Submarine, 4 Fighters, 11 Bombers, 10 Jets, 2 TOW Infantry, and 3 Flak. Except for the 108 Mech Infantry, it is looking pretty good. I would prefer if those 4 carriers were sunk, but we will see what we can do to continue the decimation of their fleet. The top five cities are Agade(size 12), Teotihuacan(28), Isin(12), Texcoco(12), and Tenochtitlan(12). Teotihuacan is the new capital and except for it, the are at least close to dropping down to the next size level. I then do a steal and take computers. Upgrade a bunch of infantry.
(I) WE get the mess bombed out of us. We lose a frigate and get a landing on the island.

Sink a Battleship, two Destroyers and a transport, but we lose 2 bombers. I clean up the landing on the island. Kill off 4 Mechs and 2 Tanks on the mainland. Steal Miniturization. Swap Moscow to the Internet due in 14 turns.

...ack! left hanging...don't know...how turn 1...finished...

Meldor, was this partial post on purpose?

Did we keep or Abandon Bad-Tibira and Smiths?

Partial post on purpose - I had a lot to do, both to find out what the game state was and where things where at and to make changes in things first turn. I din't want there to be another wait for a complete set.

I kept the city both as a target for them to try and get back and for the income. Hopefully, it won't be as big a flip risk at the ends of my turns, but even so it is most likely worth it. Our armies are set so that even if it does flip, they can't re-enforce it except from the north and it should be easy to retake.
