Sounds cool, a modern colonization mod.

What's up with the title? 'Ein Platz an der Sonne' translates to 'A place at the sun'. Unter makes more sense (like Unter den Linden, a rather famous streetname in Berlin). Otherwise: :goodjob:

I took the name, beacause:

A place in the sun  was a phrase coined by Reichskanzler Bernhard von Bülow on December 6, 1897 in a speech to the German Reichstag, to refer to Germany's colonial empire.[1]

We are ready to accommodate the interests of other Great Powers in East Asia, in the secure foresight, that our own interests will gain recognition in return. In one word: we don't want to put anyobdy in the shade, but we too demand our place in the sun, In East Asia, just as in West India, we will strive - following the traditions of German politics - to enforce our rights and interests without unnecessary antagonism, but also without unnecessary weakness.

—Bernhard von Bülow /wiki

It think this fits great to the Era :)

Can you give me featback if the downloadlink is ok?

Because the file is greater than 10 MB i've to take an external link

When I press "Download a file" button I have such message:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.

Could you, please, upload your file on rapidshare (.com or .de) or any other server from where we could download it without troubles. Thank you in advance.

because i just began with the gold version (It will be great, new units, Leaderheads Movies etc...) but it will take some time until it will be ready. So everyone allready can play the Mod :)

and perhaps i'll get some featback, what i have to change or what could be better in this Mod

Hey, this looks pretty interesting. I tried downloading it, but the rapidshare page told me that it could only be downloaded ten times. Is there another link or something? Thanks.

DLed OK. (I know where the quote comes from, I was referring to the translation into German: in the sun = unter - or in - die Sonne, not an die Sonne. a place at the sun is nonsense.);)

I'm using MediaFire for hosting now - it's quick. You can host files up to 100MB.

„Mit einem Worte: wir wollen niemand in den Schatten stellen, aber wir verlangen auch unseren Platz an der Sonne.“ place in the sun. Does not refer to a physical location inside the Sun but rather a place where the sun (small s) shines and the state would have a chance to bask in the warmth of colonial riches. Poor fool didn't pay attention to what being an empire was doing to Britain just about then.

I stand corrected.;) (I still find it an odd use of an, though; never heard of it. But then, I've been away from Germany for quite a while now.)

Ja, so ist das gemeint... but i was amazed too when I saw the translation the first time. First I wanted to take "at the sun" too :D

mod sounds cool.

just looking at the screens though and found some historical inaccuracy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machine_gun

the machine gun wasn't invented until 1884. i'm a history major (for what that's worth) and i seem to recall that ww1 was the first extensive use of the machine gun. ww1 was of course the end of imperial germany until hitler.

im stoked you're modding though.

edit: it says the american government sold some early versions of the gattling gun to foreign nations, so loophole i guess
