[MOD] Fall from Heaven

The constant aura that accompanies Meshaber around is quite intense. Is there a way i can tone this down? It makes a bit difficult to see things going on around him...

Dont know if it makes a difference to ya'll but those are mostly Blizzard icons from Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft. There's only 3 on the screenie that I don't definitely recognize (mage with a ball of light, lightning storm, and what looks like a mud golem, end of the 3rd row and first two pics on the 4th row)

Just thought I'd drop that in as an fyi.

edit: looking at some of the other icons on there, I just got curious. Is there any plan for dragons in your mod (perhaps in phase 2)?

Yes, Dragons are in the design. Now we just need some dragon models.

His aura has been toned down in 1.0.

Does the AI have any considerations on the 'final' wonders to be built?

Like, Blight and Armageddon. These wonders are frightening and I obv opt to not build them, considering their awesome power.

But would the AI just build it simply on the basis that "it has a wonder it can build, it will build the wonder"

Blight just got built and has put my Genesis in the trash! Now I must unleash Meshabar on them as vengeance!

There are a few things that can be done to incent the AI to build wonders. At a civ level there is an attrbiute that controls how much it prefers to build wonders and what "flavor" of buildigns and untis it prefers. On the building side there is an attribute that controls how much an AI will prefer the building as well as being able to set the "flavor" for the building.

Nothing is currently set on Blight and Apocalypse so the only thing going for them is the civ's preference for building wonders. Besides that they are pretty low priority from an AI standpoint.

I will go through this in phase 2 and probably give the armageddon spells a negative weight so most civs won't build them and then assign them a Favor boost so certain civs will try to rush them (aka: the civs you should kill first if you don't want armageddon spells going off :) ).

Never seen any aura at all on my game. would love it like this looks pretty cool!:)

Thats a shame, you probably aren't seeing fireballs, fire elementals, fireball explosions, root spells, and all that fun stuff. Get that computer upgraded and you will be loving life.

Ok, Armageddon just got built.

Luckily, my blood of phoenix wonder made sure all lost units came back.

The problem is, they all respawned at my capital...including my ships... Problem being the city is not a coastal one!

edit: and ouch, blight was more mean than I thought. I got druids revitalising the land...sadly they can't bring back my cows and pigs. Hehe.

Kael, you said that you need sound effects for spells. Well, Morrowind has some decent spell sounds (Basicaly whoosh-sounds) but they are in MP3 format, easy to use, and it will save you a lot of work. Also, they are not all the same (different spell groups=different sounds) If you don't have Morrowind, I can upload them.

In 1.0 ships won't be made immortal by Blood of the Phoenix. Actually I thought that change change was checked into 0.95g so Im surprised you saw this if you havent the latest patch on.

Hey, Ive downloaded and attempted to install your mod but It keeps throwing up an "NSIS Error"??

Something about it being corrupted or incomplete it suggests I contact the maker so hear I am, any suggestions? Dying to play this mod!

You may have a conflicting file in your customassets directory. Try renameing your customassets directory to customassets.old and restarting (the game will create a new customassets directory when it restarts).

If that doesn't help make sure you have Civ patch 1.52 applied.

=/ I am having problems too. It does let me win the game no matter what, but it just isn't the same. You see, no units can move more than once. After they move, they never get to move again for me, not even after five hundred year.

This is usually caused by the customassets directory too. Some mods install their files in the customassets directory instead of the mod directory. Since customassets is used for all instances (playing vanilla civ or a mod) its bound to conflict with mods that change a ton of stuff like Fall from Heaven.

Try to rename your customassets directory to customassets.old and let us know if that fixes your problem or not.

Fraid that hasnt helped, the mod just wont install.

It says it could be the result of a failed download, damaged disk or virus. Not sure at all how to proceed, Ive been having troubles getting any mods to work recently and Im on V1.52.

Ahh, I see. NSIS is the program I used to build the executable. Have you tried re-downloading? It sounds like your copy may be corrupt.

Redownloading the mod or NSIS?

Redownload the mod. It sounds like your copy is bad.

What's wrong with you man? Didn't claim to be an artist and gave reference from where I got them in my thread. All I do is provide stuff for the modders that there are no pink spots for people like you to complain about:p

I think you misunderstood me. I did miss the reference in your thread though. Anyways, I haven't complained about any pink spots or anything, not even my screwy icon sizes. Chill out hey :) it was just an fyi, I didn't imply anything with it.

Me neither.

Then again, we just traded out a geforce card for our old ATI card that we thought was broke (but my brother decided it was just a driver issue and well it SEEMS ok so far, no blue screens on 3d games yet so we will see...) I just hope it didn't break civ4 completely because I remember hearing a lot about ATI issues with civ4....

But if it works I think I may even be able to play on a large map instead of always standard! I'm excited because on standard there just isn't enough room to explore unless I put in only 2 AIs...heh..
