MODS compatible with Vox Populi (VP)

I believe the description for JFDLC should be changed. JFD has stated that CP will be supported, but the whole VP is not really being supported now.

@SLGray CP is supported, but Vox Populi is not. CP is the Community Patch, while Vox Populi is like JFDLC a mod that uses the Community Patch as a base to created more content. I believe JFD has stated that Compatibility with VP is not his priority.

Edit: Their even called different things, CP is the Comunity Patch and Vox Populi is also called CBO, or Community Balance Overhaul.

But it is listed under the VP section.

May not be balanced, but should be technically compatible with VP (the compatibility / balance may change from time to time as both VP and JFDLC are still being developed.

You can still download an older version that is compatible and I think JFDLC just refers to all content that JFD makes. So technically his other content is compatible, such as Exploration Expanded Continued. I understand that you're probably thinking of RtP, and I agree with you there, it should be noted there if it is no longer compatible, once again not to accuse you of lying or anything, but it should still be tested to see if other people have the same problem.

The sum of it is that, because JFDLC adds onto the base game rather than overhauls it, it is in theory compatible - add to that, I've added special supports where needed for some things that VP adds (District allocation for new buildings, disabling my Happiness changes for VP's, etc.). But practically speaking compatibility has fallen by the wayside as I try to bring my beta version up with the public version, and that beta version is not really going to be up to date with VP atm - I do intend to make it so, but only once I've stopped making fundamental changes myself.

So, I think TL;DR you don't need to change what you have on the OP because the public version hasn't been changed in over a year and it is to that version you link. I think SLlad is part of those who use the beta version and therein he's right in saying VP and the JFDLC beta aren't optimized to work with one another and its not a focus atm, but I'm not sure if you need to clarify that. If you want absolute clarity, you could note that v53-v55 (the public versions) are fine, anything after that it's considered in beta and use at your own risk.

And for clarity, JFDLC is Rise to Power + Cities in Development + Exploration Continued Expanded. I'm not sure the individual versions of those mods are still available, but if they are, compatibility status would be the same - ExCE on its own is definitely fine, the rest I don't recall. I guess it's all a bit messy and confusing when you think about it :p

Doesn't help that CP is the base of CBO, and that your stuff leans on CP but isn't necessarily compatible with CBO, etc. etc...

What a tangled web we weave!

VP Promo Icons - New beautiful colorful promotion icons for Vox Populi. NEW: This mod now works with the Promotion Flags (EUI) = the redesigned promo icons are displayed above the units in the map.

Thanks for your effort to still promote VPPI. You do it well actually. :clap:Thx
but VPPI is broken. Bad for you and your family. I won't recommande it

Sorry, what? Ohh, I get it, it has been incorporated, right? So I will move it to the incorporated mods list, so that people don't install it separately, ok?

When/why did 'Missiles No Supply' stop being compatible? I used to use it just fine, only stopped working when I updated. Is there a way to get it working has anyone got a workaround?

One thing I can contribute, I think:
For the Enlightenment Era Mod, under Compatible after tweaking some files, you mention it needs regular Enlightement Era version, then Infixo's version, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
As per Infixo's comment here you only need to install his version.
With that It can also be moved up to Compatible "out of the box".

Thanks for noticing! I have updated the description, but kept it in the same list - you need the special VP version after all. The original mod is not compatible out of the box.

Is there anyway to lengthen the turn time of eras? What I mean is- My friend and I have been playing with "Longer eras-Historic" with some changes made by me to tweak research/construction times(250% construction, 300% research). I like the longer research times while having unit building almost normal speed so that era actually feel like eras.(We play reeeeeeeeaaally long civ games) There is a great scientist fix for that mod that keeps great scientists from researching more than 1 tech at a time. I tried to use both the CBP and Longer Eras- Historic at the same time, but it caused terrible desync and crashing on advisor selection. If there is a file I could tweak in the CBP that would get me the results I want that would be fantastic. I know the mod changes some happiness bonuses and the amount faith to get your first great prophet. Any advice to either get this mod working with the CBP or changes I could make myself to the CBP to get similar results is much appreciated. I dont really know how to code for civ, but I sure know how to change values! Thanks in advance, and if I am posting this in the wrong forum please point me to where I would be more likely to get the answers I need. I havent played civ in a long time, but something has dragged me back into it and I cant stop playing now.

Did anybody else try "Lightning Speed" mod with the latest VP patches? For me it is quite nice, for a quick try of new versions on tiny maps. There were no crashes so far, technically everything works fine. It seems the mod causes some strange results, though. Building costs, for example: A worker costs 10 gold, but you get 20 back when you delete it. (Nice cheat, but IGE is still easier if I need money... :D)
I would like to know, if the results of those games are (more or less) comparable with "quick" game results.
