Mongol, Ethiopian & Aztec Units, as well as Iraqi Republican Guard & Roman Infantry

Nobody has figured out a solution to the headless Mongol horseman? Or is that part of the Mongol fear-factor thing? ;)

I ran some tests on my computer but I can't recreate your glitch. The unit in the civopedia, and the menu look fine on my computer. I checked it on low and high graphics settings as well. I can't figure out why it would show up differently in the menu and in the civopedia... I know that the civopedia uses different shaders then the normal game but this shouldn't have any effect on the head graphics...

Does anyone else have this problem?

(I would have replied sooner Wolfshanze but i had problems getting onto civfanatics earlier.)

Okay... somebody else please confirm if Bakuel is lucky, or my system is goofy.

I did use the recommended animation (Charlemagne Heavy Cavalry... unmodified)... I assume that's what Bakuel is using as well... and the unit does look fine in-game (on map), it's just headless in the Civilopedia... that's a strange thing indeed... though I wish it occured on Bakuel's system as well.

Can we have a 3rd party figure out if I'm out of luck over here or if it's a bigger problem then just me? All the other units in his pack worked fine... only this one gave me problems.

Thanks... okay... now it's not just me!

Bakuel... anybody? Fix?

Alright... I'll take a closer look then. This is very weird but it must be something simple. At least I hope.

First things first... double-check your own XML... maybe you're linking the animation to a modified version of the Charlemagne Heavy Cavalry instead of the default one? Something as simple as that could be it... after that first guess, I'm out of ideas.

I think I fixed the problem! Go me! :D
I replaced the mongol middle age zip to include the new MongolHeavyCavalry.nif file.
Wolfshanze and/or mamba could you redownload it and try it in your mods to see if it fixes the problem? With any luck the horsemen should keep there heads on this time around.

Bakuel... I have tried the new Mongol Knight NIF...

It would seem the Mongols are able to keep their heads about them now.

Not sure this is a good thing... the Mongol Knights were more intimidating when they were waving their own heads around while riding on a horse.

Well I could always send you the broke file if you really want it... It could be a Bakuel Exclusive for your mod, Headless Mongolian Horsemen. :p

That file was broke? I thought it was intentional. :mischief:
