"Blue Jeans and Rock Music"I guess the extra TTourism simulates the unique products of a Civilization. Like how China was known for Silk, Venice their glass, and Mali its gold.

Not defending Civ V's ideologies in any way. Although, to be fair, the way tourism was presented there indeed made more sense and felt more immersive. The same can be said to Civ V's logic of "Different Ideologies can cause tourism pressure", isn't it?
Basically, in V and VI, "tourism" doesn't necessarily mean "tourism industry" but more like "a meter for cultural influence and pressure". Especially when you consider that the winning condition of Cultural Victory is literally "Having more international tourists (others are following your culture) than other's domestic tourists (others are not holding up their own culture)".
I do agree that if the devs just went "cultural pressure" instead of "domestic vs. international tourism", we can all understand the game a lot easier.
Considering how other "manufactured" luxury resources produce amenities in game like toys, blue jeans, cosmetics etc., maybe instead of giving them a massive culture/tourism boost they should let these manufactured products provide extra amenities to the cities that they are housed in.I'm not saying that monopolies should provide zero tourism, I just don't think tying monopolies exclusively to tourism is the right call. Let monopolies boost tourism - but in much smaller amounts and along with boosting other yields.

These are pretty good! Here's the challenge:
Come up with four that do not violate existing copyrights.
nah, I don't think it will ever be fixed... even in April.
and that took what 4 months?Dont be so sure. Firaxis eventually changed titles from discovering additional secret societies, even if that was explicitly working as intended. While not all wishes are granted, they have proved to actually listen. Next patch is probably unlikely, but I do expect it to be changed eventually.

... If they still want merchants, maybe they give them a special charge to rush the corporation, but it's kind of annoying to have like 4 merchants sitting around, because I would obviously rather Crassius be used to form a corporation later rather than just give me a couple cheap tiles early.
and why should we customers be forced to wait for the mess THEY created?Cant remember, but sounds about right. Once the flow of content pauses they will hopefully dedicate the spare ressources for fixing and changing these kind of things.

April is only 3 months from now... face it we are doomed. Either they got off their ass and fix it in February patch or they will ignore it and claim it is "working as intended"Hey, Im not defending Firaxis for this. Generally Im pretty critical of them since NFP. Im just pointing out that hope is not lost of this eventually being changed.

March we will have final civ so there is no time and on April they are doing massive re-balance. Clearly, Dev is not thinking of doing any changes to this mod.You are aware that there is also the March release and than NFPs final free update in April? I don't see why a fix must happen already in February, on contrary I would even say - if there is a fix at all - it is more likely to happen in March or April because of the time their QA process takes.

I don't think Devs thought very hard about this mode... it is a shame really. I really don't want to say it but...
what good is it if we can't enjoy it? It is useful as a beautiful fake bread. It looks delicious but you can't EAT it.I think it's a very well designed game mode that's hampered by a calculation error. It's probably the best actual addition to the game mechanics since NFP came out, IMO.
You can eat it, it's just has some unnecessary raisins in itwhat good is it if we can't enjoy it? It is useful as a beautiful fake bread. It looks delicious but you can't EAT it.
