The discussion, being seen however despite all that supposed attempt to downplay it as such, in the end as trully one which would potentially escalate to another version of the older one, was ended by Flamand, in a midly sarcastic note which possibly was formed in such a way so as to allow for a soothing end to it, without really answering the comments which had been made, and taking advantage also of the probable general negative mood which had surrounded the matter, despite of the downplay.

I didn't seem to have made much of an impression then... Let me put it in slight more direct terms: this discussion/nagging/ commenting/... ends or the competition ends.

Varwnos, though I admire your skills at making city graphics and your sarcastic style (and in spite of the fact that Kafka is also my favourite writer), there's no point in this; your briefing was one sided as well. I remind that in the discussion you mentioned I had also stated that conversions should be allowed, on the condition they are known as such, and, most important, that these contests have no real prize, and are meant for fun. While many of your arguments would be valid otherwise, that’s not the case since our main purpose isn’t (materially) rewarding or punishing anyone for his or her creations. So, mrtn's submission may be in the borderline between conversion and original, but there's no reason to insist marking them as conversions, which is doubtful anyway. I'm backing up Flamaland's decisions, and that's the last I had to say about this issue.

this is supposed to be a friendly competition to encourage people to create new things to better off the civ community as a whole.

fighting is only gonna stop people from entering these competitions, so GET OVER IT!

I am sick of it too, but I'm even more sick of the fact that whenever I (or Ogedei_the_Mad, or aaglo, or...) post a file in this thread, varwnos tries to find a loophole to get me/him disqualified.

For the record, I will no longer take part in any more contests. I'm not interested in getting mixed up in another little contest controversy because I don't save previews as PNGs nor do I see the need to "compete" anymore since I'm fairly satisfied enough with my work. That any of it actually gets downloaded is good enough for me.

Varwnos, please, stop whinging about the rules. Flamand has said time and again that they're staying as they are. It's his competition and his rules. Anyone can comment if they don't like them, of course, but you've made your point at more than sufficient length and you really don't need to keep making the same criticism on a practically daily basis. This sort of thing just wrecks the spirit of the competition and makes it no fun for anyone. So if it carries on there will be warnings and mass post deletions.

And surely Kafka didn't write about himself in the third person - that was Caesar!

Well, I only have 2 animations left to finish on the Imperial Swordsman unit I've been working on (forever ), so I will most likely be entering him into this months competition.
