[Extension] [POLL] More Wonders for VP

What is your opinion on Flavoured Help Texts unique for More Wonders mod?

  • I like them and I use them every game

  • I use them from time to time to check how they perform

  • I use them only to give some feedback to the author

  • I prefer original version, but I don't mind them

  • I prefer original version, but I played with them few times

  • I don't like them in their current state, but I think they can be improved

  • I don't like them and disable them every game

  • I like them, but still I think they can be improved

I'm not the best to ask about tooltips tbh. I learn as I play so that stuff is kind of phased out of my head. I think the latest version I played had it more clear and concise so it is probably best to stick to that, and have the civlopedia have more details.

Civilopedia generates info automatically beside History info I must provide.
I decided to make them optional, so you will be able to revert those changes and use standard help texts, but I hope you will like them. I'm currently enetering classical :)

In next update (v0.5.9) there will be some changes to requirements:
  • to stop desert cities spam:
    • Karnak will lose Desert and gain Flat;
    • Mohenjo-Daro will gain no Coast;
  • to stop Stonehenge/Pyramids often combo:
    • Stonegenge will lose Road(1) and gain no Coast (also I didn't like how Road req on this wonder worked);
  • to differentiate Marsh wonders:
    • Forum Romanum will lose any Water and gain River;

v0.5.9 released on Github. 1st part of new help texts is ready to use.
to return to VP style help texts you must set "0" instead of "1" for "MW-HELP" tag in "MoreWonderTexts.sql" file;

Not yet. I will add them soon. No rush with official version. There's lots of missing art for new wonders, and also I was waiting for @Asterix Rage's response about promo icons (2 new needed). I also work on new help texts and medieval and renaissance left so far.

Oops!
I didn't notice you asked for PI
What PI?
Heh, it happens :P
Spoiler Marae :

  • Marae Arahurahu (French Polynesia)
    • 2 :c5greatperson: GMusP;
    • 5 XP per local :greatwork: Great Work to Land and Naval Units in this City;
    • 1 slot for :greatwork: Great Work of Music;
    • all Land and Naval Units: "15 :c5faith: from lost owned Units and 15 :c5culture: from killed enemy Units" (Arahurahu);
    • all Ranged Units: "+10 :c5strength: CS" (Marae);

I'm playing a game with a friend on a modpack I just made (version VP2.18) and some restrictions don't seem to work. For example, noCoast for Hanging Garden.
I will dig a little more, for the moment I didn't note exactly the restrictions which did not work.

Take latest version from github. Lua was broken in earlier.

Ummm, stupid question but I can't activate this mod if I download it directly from the github?
Should I merge the civfanatics download and github release or something?

Open ModBuddy and create new project with its name. Then copy all files into this project folder.

You must have only one .civ5proj file so delete one that was created during first step.

Then open project via ModBuddy and build modpack: "Build" --> "Build (name of the mod)".

If I messed something someone must correct me. I never did this, because all projects are created from scratch by me and I didn't add github one.

".git" and ".gitattributed" files are for "Github Desktop" app.

I think the era limitation of wonders should be adjusted (using Github version)
for e.g. the Peterhof palace is unlocked in Economics but it requires completion of the imperialism branch which in comparison another wonder in imperialism is pentagon unlocked at combined arms

EDIT: also im able to build Stonehenge although im on the coast

I updated requirements file according to latest GITHUB version. I forgot that it can missguide people using official one. Sorry!
Remember that you have all requirements listed in HELP tooltips and partially in EUI tooltips.

If you use latest github version (v0.5.9.1) then problem with not working lua (in v0.5.9) requirements is fixed (I checked it yesterday).

Stonehenge in official version should use 1 or 2 road in city (don't remember :p). In github version it is deleted and substituted with no Coast requirement. There were many other changes to requirements.

@KittyKat3120 Good suggestion. I need to change era limitation for ideology wonders. Policy wonders too?

I experimentally added ability which uses earlier unused table (GPProgressOnConstruction or smth like that). I set value 100, and eras Medieval and Renaissance. If you could do further analysis how it works, I would fix it or, if it is broken totally, then I will use standard GE points or anyhing.

Initial intention was to give instant 100 points if player constructed Falun in one of those eras. If later then he would get nothing.

Yes, I saw the sql Building_GreatPersonProgressFromConstruction in your mod. I will try to understand better how it works.

v0.5.10 on github. Say thanks to @Asterix Rage :thumbsup: who made two new wonderful promotion icons (Marae and Arahurahu):

Marae Arahurahu added. Fixed Uffizi policy requirements. Added few more help texts.
