Arecibo Observatory

Located in the Puerto Rican municipality of Arecibo, the Arecibo Observatory is the world's largest Radio Telescope, at 305 metres (1000 ft). It was constructed in 1963 in a naturally formed sinkhole to measure the Earth's Ionosphere. Since then, it has been used in a variety of studies and projects, including the discovery of Neutron stars, Binary pulsars and even finding Soviet radar stations by reflection off the moon. Ingame, the Arecibo Observatory boosts :c5production: Production towards Spaceship parts, and provides a free Great Scientist. It becomes available with Satellites. The Arecibo Observatory wonder can be downloaded from the Ingame ModBrowser, or from the CivFanatics Download Database, page Here

Hey Pouakai, is your avatar the next wonder? Good god that's a gorgeous piece of artwork, the color scheme is perfect. Looking forward to whatever you put out next.

Brooklyn Bridge

Built in the late 19th century, the Brooklyn Bridge is the most iconic and oldest major bridge of New York, and is as much an icon as the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building. It was built in Neo-Gothic style, much like many other New York buildings of the time. The Brooklyn Bridge had fears a year after opening of stability issues, so PT Barnum famously lead 21 elephants from his Circus across the bridge. Ingame, the Brooklyn Bridge causes your empire to enter a 10-turn :c5goldenage: Golden Age, and gives +50% :c5greatperson: Great Person generation in the city it is built; it requires Railroad. The Brooklyn Bridge can be downloaded from the Ingame ModBrowser, or via the CivFanatics Download Database, page Here

You missed the end " in the Brooklyn Bridge quote
Same for Pena Palace

Wonderful. Absolutely fabulous. Seeing what work of art you've created next is always one of my Sunday highlights (that is when you're able to upload them on Sunday).

*Hint for future wonder* - Sukritact's avatar

Also, sukritact - don't discount yourself, your icon is the best bit of the whole wonder!

Thanks synulia, it really means a lot. As for the rest of feedback, I might add it in as another splash, and I'll release a v2 fixing the quote

In case it wasn't clear already, you two are doing an astounding work!

It has not yet been suggested, thought it might be a bit close to the Opera House (Literally :D ) But I might have some cool shots from when I went there, or you could be a man on the ground and get a nice angle...

I've already done Project Longshot, but that was more of a revamp of Apollo. I'm open to giving it a shot, what have you got in mind?

And thanks elProfesor :D - When you have some time, could you do translations for the rest of the Chinese wonders so I can put them in the Chinese New Year pack?

It hasn't been suggested?! I'm almost insulted! :p Not really. :mischief: I'll give it a go and try for some good shots, but it'll take a while.

Well, the way I see it, some of the older 'wonders' from Civ2 and Civ3 could be reworked into Civ5 as Projects, like Magellan's Voyage providing a naval bonus, or Polo's Embassy providing a bonus when finding a new civilization, even the Theory of Evolution providing a science bonus. National Wonders would be less important buildings compared to the World Wonders, like the Globe Theatre for example. These are all just examples but the general idea is there; Projects demonstrating certain events or productions, not buildings, that affect history - similar to the Manhattan Project's effect on warfare and more specifically WWII.

Isn't there already a bonus for circumnavigating the globe? Or was that Civ 4? Or Civ rev?

I actually hated seeing stuff like the Globe Theatre and Oxford as national wonders (more specifically the fact that it meant there would be multiple universities called Oxford, etc.) Personally I've changed the Circus Maximus, Hermitage and Oxford into National Stadium, National Museum and National University respectively.

I'm thinking about these wonders. For example, How many Oxfords would a game have? These wonders should (well, must) be normal wonders like others :S

I thought I had translated all the Chinese ones already? Oh well, just tell me which ones I forgot, and I'll get down to it (maybe even this weekend, depending on how I manage my time this week). It's been a while since I did some translations, and I don't want to seem lazy.

If the text isn't already in this thread (and complete), PM it to me. The other option I have is to open the game and alt-tab as I translate, but given that I play on a laptop, that would take ages :P
