More Wonders

+1 movement point? IMO that's overpowered...
Shouldn't it be +1 movement point only in own territory?
Really? I can't do only in own territory without LUA, sadly. What do you think could be an alternative?
"Montpiller"-> Montpellier
"Eifel"-> Eiffel
And the construction actually only took 3 years (2001-2004). :p

I haven't forgotten about the translations yet, but I am a bit under pressure at the moment, I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

At least there will be a v2 soon for Steam Workshop. And don't worry about the translations if you're under pressure, real life always comes first.

Not for buildings, I'm afraid. I know that technology can increase movement on roads (That's what I wanted to do), traits can decrease maintenence (But that makes Inca useless) and I think Policies make buildings cheaper

Maybe the thing I will say it's overpowered (too), but if lua allowed... the cost of movements could be 1 and not 2 for all millitary units, when these move to a hill square (I think it is not probable, but it's an alternative :D)

Hey guys!

I've installed the beta patch and signed up for Steam Workshop, and I'm loving every second of it. It's just so clean, and lets you add screenshots and make collections! The last part is the main reason of this, I'm going to create collections for the mods instead of standalone modpacks, so you can just sign up to the collection (Or me) and recieve new mods like that!

i hope you will make it easy to disable wonders just in case i download a pack and run it with a mod that uses the same wonder.

easy disable - and i hope the workshop is good.

Could I have a request for a wonder?

I have was always fascinated with interwar avant-garde, especially with Bauhaus. Could you make it into a wonder for me?

To reflect their effort to join artistic expression with industrial production in the age of mass-production I think that + 1:c5production: for artists, + 1:c5culture: for engineers and two slots for artists and two for engineers would be appropriate.

Their icon probably should be the Bauhaus building in Dessau

I'M not only sure about required tech. There isn't any appropriate interwar cultural tech, or any appropriate interwar tech itself, so perhaps refrigerators?

I think it doesn't present any attractive :/

PD: It needs something...

It's not how it looks, it's what it represented. The Louvre doesn't look all that impressive from the outside, but it contains the finest collection of art in one place in the world. Bauhaus represented something incredibly groundbreaking in art, and gets my vote as a wonder of the world.

I'll probably put Bauhaus on the list with the expansion - there might be an inter-war tech.

Right, so I'm pressed for time this weekend. I haven't released a wonder last week, which is why I'm asking, but do you want me to release a new one or work on getting the older mods uploaded to the new Steam Workshop?

I'd say steam workshop first. :)
Maybe give us a wonder or two once Gods and Kings comes out.

You might actually want to revise several of the religious based wonders once thats out to mesh with the new faith/religion system.

Oh and add Uralvagonzavod asap. ;)

We spoke earlier about the ability for buildings to create new resources in Gods and Kings. I agree with you that it’s absurd to have, say, Hollywood, as the only source for hit movies.

What if this ability was combined with the Corporations concept from Civ4? You could treat major real world corporations as wonders. Sony, for example, could produce a certain number of hit records, hit movies, and hit videogames. Meanwhile, Nintendo or Firaxis would just produce hit videogames. You could come up with enough of them to prevent the Civ 4 situation of Hollywood creating 5 hit movies and that’s all the movies produced in the world.

Ideally, I’d say you’d want something around 20 of each of these special resources available via corporation wonders. This isn’t to say that you’d need 20 wonders per resource. Various Corporation wonders could give +4 or +5 of a luxury good or goods. So everyone would have a chance at building some transnational, but not everyone will be successful.

You could then have regular buildings like a movie theater which adds a certain amount of happiness but adds more happiness/gold if you have a hit movie luxury resource. Likewise a shopping mall or something like that would benefit from hit records and videogames , etc. Wonders like Hollywood could add additional benefits to these building (like +2 gold per movie theater).

As far as resources go, I’d say that hit movies, hit records, and hit videogames are a must. Maybe personal computers, televisions, “electronic gadgets,” or “consumer goods” would also work as good luxury resources.

Give me your thoughts about this concept.

Been meaning to reply.

I like the wonder idea, but 2 engineer and 2 artist slots is overpowered. 2 slots is plenty for a wonder, I would say either 1 engineer and 1 artist, or 2 engineers.

On the other hand there are a problem with slots: Buildings only can have a unique type of specialist; in the <specialistType>X</specialistType> X only can be engineer, artist or merchant, so "Engineer & Artist" will not work.

If you want a building which improves culture as much as "production", I recommend some things:

1. 2 culture for each manufactory improvement & 1 engineer slot
2. +5% culture for each factory in all cities & 1 engineer slot
3. 2 production for each landmarks & 1 artist slot

:D

But... If that is possible (Engineer & Artist), I was wrong and everything wass right :P

I'm not sure if it's my mind playing tricks on me, but I do seem to remember a wonder in CTP (The original) that had an artist and an engineer or something similar...

Yea, but that's CTP. Is it possible to have one slot for two different specialists here?

I'm also looking for CTP and CTP2, are there any digital downloads I can pick up of the games?
