Hitler was a NESer that accidentally got back in time and was, naturally, bored. That would explain a lot...

Because they bore the white man's burden, and helped saved us from satan and barbarism? :mischief: ;)

It was very kind of them to save us from that Satan guy. I hear he was a pagan. :O

Just a question, why are we chanting support for our former colonial masters?

Because they're all watching you. As soon as you stop chanting support, they will intervenne to restore historic justice.

I hear satanists have sex with satan and wild orgies.

Wow..
I heard they a pretty nice bunch of randy people.
I thought the Romans were the ones into wild orgies.. :D

That does explain a lot, though I prefer Insane Panda's explanation.

Rule Britannia!

I like that satanists don't necessarily worship Satan. I love misnomers.

If anyone says 'Heil Hitler' again I am going to go on a screaming rant and report it. Seriously, I know that the whole 'genocide thing' is just about the game, but I still find it extremely offensive that anyone thinks it would be even funny to post something like this. I am really serious, so if anyone who has posted in this thread recnetly uses that thread again, I will report it.

:rotfl: good luck with that.

Rule Brittania!

Another irony delivered.

Isralite, don't do the rant thing, just report it, however please realise that some people have adjusted to the holocaust etc (whatever is meant by 'adjusted') and in the end everything comes under the scrutiny of jokes, to make it easier to manage, to lesson the horror, to live with it.

Or thats my theory.

Israelite, mate.. you gotta chill man.
Don't take everything seriously..

Okay, maybe we shouldn't take seriously the deaths of millions around the globe due to genocide. You're right, lets just treat all of that as a joke. Like people's lives were never taken.

He has a point. To do it in an NES is one thing. To act like it is a good thing to be "genocidal" out of and NES where we try to create an alternate history for the world, is another.

A lot of truth is said in jest. And while it could start out to be a joke, it could very well lead to something nasty and profoundly bad.

EDIT:

to make it easier to manage, to lesson the horror, to live with it.

It should never be easier to manage, we should never lesson the horror, and we are living with it every day (joking about it is not living with the pain). If we do these things you suggest, we will forget our history and let the atrocity repeat itself.

Dude, honestly.

I can get pissed everytime some anime fan goes "Japan is Cool" or talks about the superiority of the Japanese bushido code and all that crap simply because some relative(s) of mine decided to be in the path of crazed Japanese soldiers sixty years ago.

But I don't, because: -
a) there's no point in being pissed at someone who's still going to say "japan should've killed more chinese" or "heil hitler" or <insert politically incorrect statement here>
b) if one does get pissed, they're just going to do it more - for the entertainment value in irritating someone.

Of course genocide is not cool, mate. But being pissed over something that none of us had any control over is even less cool.

p/S: I dare say every culture in history has committed genocide in one way or another, it's just a question on how effective they were and how prolific it was.

This is the last things I will say on this.

"Japan is cool" is different then saying genocide is good, or "cool." That comparison is completely void and out of context.

But I don't, because: -
a) there's no point in being pissed at someone who's still going to say "japan should've killed more chinese" or "heil hitler" or <insert politically incorrect statement here>

And why not? I fail to see your reason.

b) if one does get pissed, they're just going to do it more - for the entertainment value in irritating someone.

I disagree. Most people are more mature then that.

Uhh, what does having control over something warrant mourning over it? I will have no control of when my mother dies of natural causes, so I shouldn't mourn her?

And another point, if we don't get "pissed" as you say, of something in the past, then its just going to happen again. If we remember atrocities of genocide, then we can work to make sure it doesn't happen again.

p/S: I dare say every culture in history has committed genocide in one way or another, it's just a question on how effective they were and how prolific it was.

Who said they didnt?

Look, all I am asking is that people stop posting "Heil Hitler". I personally would like to get rid of everything genocide related, but that is asking a bit much. And another thing, there is a big difference between the modern fascination with Bushido and saying Heil Hitler. One is based on the fact that pre-WWII Bushido was mostly a good thing, while Heil Hitler is a term that brings up memories of the deaths of at least TEN MILLION PEOPLE.

Oh, BTW, I voted for Toteone after that stunt he pulled in StkNES re-invading, for the third turn in a row, the most peaceful PC in exisence because he was scared of being attacked by them, even though that PC also had his army redirected to assist an ally.
